In the Beginning...

In the beginning, the world was born of Athelia and Thyros; two deities whose union forged the land of Loria. Their love was the wellspring of creation, and together, they shaped the world with unparalleled harmony. Athelia, the goddess of light, life, and order, blessed the earth with her warmth and breath. Thyros, the god of darkness, death, and transformation, provided the raw power of chaos, molding the world with fire and ash. Together, their powers intertwined, creating balance and beauty.   The culmination of their divine union was the continent of Ilyndor, the most fertile and perfect land in Loria, where they bestowed their greatest gift upon the earth: the Elves, beings of grace, wisdom, and longevity. The elves were meant to be the stewards of Ilyndor, a race who could embody the divine balance between light and darkness, order and chaos.   For centuries, Athelia and Thyros reigned over the world in peace. But over time, their visions for Loria began to diverge. Athelia believed in preserving the delicate order of creation, allowing life to flourish, and ensuring that Loria remained a place of peace and prosperity. Thyros, however, saw the potential for growth in destruction, change, and rebirth, arguing that chaos and hardship were necessary for true evolution. What began as whispered debates in the divine realm soon erupted into open conflict.   Their once perfect union shattered in a cataclysmic rift, shaking the very foundations of Loria. Armies of celestials and fiends clashed in the name of their creators. The elves, torn between their divine mother and father, were scattered, some aligning with Athelia’s vision of order, others tempted by Thyros’ call to embrace the wild forces of chaos. The world was consumed in war, as the gods' battle manifested in storms, earthquakes, and flames.   In the final, fateful clash, Athelia retreated to the Celestial Veil, the heavens above, where she could guide the world from afar, sending her angels and celestials to uphold order and protect the innocent. From the Celestial Veil, she watches over Loria, guiding those who pray to her and strive to uphold the ideals of light and life. Her followers believe in righteousness, healing, and the sanctity of life, and they have sworn to keep the world free of Thyros’ influence.   Thyros, broken by the conflict, descended to the Shadow, the underworld, where he could tend to the forces of death, darkness, and change. His kingdom is one of shadow and fire, populated by devils and demons who carry out his will in Loria, seeking to test mortals with trials of suffering and temptation. His followers believe in power through strife, rebirth through destruction, and the need for chaos to break stagnation.   The world of Loria now bears the scars of the gods' divine feud. It is a place where the forces of light and darkness are in constant tension, where celestial beings and infernal creatures vie for influence over mortals, and where the elves, once the perfect children of both gods, have splintered into factions—some noble and pure, others corrupted by darkness.   As Loria moves forward, the echoes of Athelia and Thyros’ conflict continue to shape the fate of the world. Every choice, every conflict, every moment of creation or destruction is a reflection of the gods’ eternal battle.   Thus, the people of Loria live in the shadow of the Divine Rift, knowing that their world was shaped by love and torn apart by ambition. Their fate is a constant balancing act between light and darkness, order and chaos, as the legacy of Athelia and Thyros endures across the ages.
