Rowekini

Basic Information

Anatomy

Rowekini have horns on the top of their head that resemble golden crowns, giving them a more regal appearance. The bodies themselves are shaped like monkeys, with spindly limbs and a prehensile tail. During storms and when they are angry, they hunch over and walk on all fours. When they are calm they walk upright like a human and tend to carry a box of small treasures.

Ecology and Habitats

Rowekinis live on clouds that fly along wind patterns, they are very territorial and only come together during hurricane season. They are also not privy to the idea of coming down from their clouds though they are known to do so at the start of a new dynasty or to fight in a major battle.

Dietary Needs and Habits

A rowekini typically eats offerings of the tempest domain such as flying birds. Without said offerings, a rowekini will hunt for them using its lightning bolt as a fishing rod.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

A Rowekini is said to be able to smell a person's soul and name from a mile away, scholars debate whether this is an actual scent or just another sense entirely such as an advanced form of Soul Sight.

Civilization and Culture

Common Taboos

A Rowekini will never enter a building through a door, but instead through a window or down the chimney. The reasons behind this no one knows and scholars are unable to find a way to research this. They also refuse to go underground or under water.

History

The last time a Rowekini was seen on the ground was during the time of Princess Malori's ascension to the throne in which they presented her with the returned pieces of the royal regalia, brimming with the energy of a lightning bolt.

Spells

Rowekinis are known to have been the teachers of various magic spells. Some of which include Storm of Vengence being taught to the mage Grimburn to wipe out his foes and put an end to the Song Ryo Kingdom.
Others include Wind Wall and Lightning Bolt which were stolen from them by Jace the Unseeing
