Ser Wolfgang von Durnstein (a.k.a. the Holy)

One of the three Great Heroes of Tcharnovog, Wolfgang is a Holy Paladin of Elior from the High Noble House of Durnstein in the Kingdom of Edelweiss, though he has spent most of his life in the dark forests, rocky hills, and muddy fields of Tcharnovog. As a boy he helped overthrow the Skinwalker Lord, Ruslan Daskalov, and as a man he was famed for his part in slaying the black dragon they called the Mad Titan, Tugarin.
He wields the radiant greatsword, Hosanna, whose divine light can piece any darkness and smite any demon with terrible wrath.

Personal Biography

Wolfgang von Durnstein travelled to Tcharnovog as a squire of fifteen following his master to war against the Skinwalker Lord Ruslan Daskalov who had risen to overthrow the Kravenov royal family. He had not been in the land but a week before becoming deeply smitten by it and its people. In his life he has left Tcharnovog only a handful of times, most famously to be anointed a Holy Paladin by Elior himself. Though foreign born, he has been accepted as an honorary Tcharnic man by the people of the land. He speaks their language with no accent and lives in their tradition and custom. He may still pray to Elior, but he also partakes in the Kostromic Dance and knows in his heart that they are of the same divine goodness.
Though he took holy vows that would prevent him from marrying in Edelweiss, his romance with Masha Kravenova, a middle child of Tsar Nikolai the Great, was a passionate affair and quickly became the stuff of peasant legend. They were married before too long, and Masha has borne him three children, all as great and full of life as their parents who are sure to be great knights and good Lords in their own right. The royal couple, though they hold no lands, remain completely und utterly devoted to one another.
He is the resolute backbone of the three Great Heroes, and by his presence alone he ensures they shall never falter or fall. He famously took a killing blow meant for Anastasia Leonidova from the Mad Titan, Tugarin - a vicious black dragon that had laid whole armies low. When the battle was over, Anastasia called to the Gods themselves who came down from Heaven. Their holy bells rang out as they danced, and Wolfgang von Durnstein the Holy was returned to life.
They say that there is no greater man in all the world than Wolfgang von Durnstein the Holy.

Family

Wolfgang has sired three surviving children by his wife, Masha Kravenova.
Lana, the eldest at eighteen, is a warrior like her father - or will be one day. She swings her axe with the both an arcane flourish and the good nature of the Tcharnic folk. Though quickly becoming one of the most eligible young women in Tcharnovog, she has spurned every suitor and does not seem interested in marriage.
His middle child, the fifteen year old Stanislav, is a bright, friendly, and wise child born with a silver tongue. He will no doubt sway the great men of the world one day. Tall and broad-shouldered, he is the spitting image of his father. A marriage to a noble lady of high birth will no doubt be arranged soon... if they can pry him from his books.
The youngest, ten year old Mila, sings like an angel and dances like Kostroma herself. With a sharp mind and a sharper tongue, no Bard in any land will be her equal.
