Vulcanism
The Dwarves worship the God Invictus, the immortal fire god they believe entered the Earth through the volcano Mount Iulius at the heart of Regnum Gloria.
In the Old Religion, Invictus was known as Vulcan. He was an ancient God, father of Jupiter, who slumbered beneath the Earth. When the Dwarves rose up against their Human masters the Gods sided with the Humans, but Vulcan sided with the Dwarves and led them to victory. After adopting the sign of Vulcan, the Dwarves never lost another battle and so named their patron Invictus.
When the fighting was done Invictus threw down the Old Gods and chained them in the center of the Earth. Despite their enslavement, the Old Gods are still worshipped in Kynos.
Invictus governs summer, smithing, the wheat harvest, and fertility.
The Invictum symbol is a single Warhammer, pointed down, engulfed in flame. It is traditionally depicted in bronze.
