D&D 5E

  • Ability Score Modifiers: +1 Constitution, +2 Charisma. OR choose one of (a) Any +2, any other +1 or (b) Any +1, any other +1, any other +1.
  • Size: You are medium.
  • Speed: Your walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a swimming speed equal to your walking speed.
  • Amphibious: You breathe air and water.
  • Chameleons of the Sea: You have proficiency in Stealth, and advantage on Stealth checks made in or under the water.
  • Emissary of the Sea: You can communicate simple ideas to any Beast, Elemental, or Monstrosity that has a swimming speed. It can understand your words, though you have no special ability to understand it in return.
  • Life at Sea: You have proficiency with the spear, trident, light crossbow, and net.
  • Ripples on the Sea: You can sense vibrations in water, granting you Blind Sense within 20 feet against creatures in contact with the same body of water.

PATHFINDER 1E

  • Ability Score Modifiers: Naiads are vigorous and beautiful, but their land of sun and plenty have made them mercurial. They gain +2 Constitution, -2 Wisdom, and +2 Charisma.
  • Size: Naiads are Medium creatures.
  • Type: Naiads are Humanoids with the Aquatic subtype.
  • Base Speed: 30 Feet. They also have a swim speed of 30 feet, can move in water without making Swim checks, and always treat Swim as a class skill.
  • Languages: Naiads begin play speaking Common. Naiads with high intelligence may choose additional languages from: Aelfric, Ahuran, and Vulcanic.
  • Amhibious: Naiads can breathe both water and air.
  • Chameleon: Naiads can change their coloration to blend in with underwater terrain, mixing browns, grays, whites, pinks, yellows, blues, and greens to resemble kelp, coral, or other natural water plants. As a standard action, a Naiad can change her coloration, gaining a +4 bonus on Stealth checks in underwater environments. She can return to normal as a free action.
  • Hydrated Vitality: Naiads gain Fast Healing 2 for 1 round anytime she submerges completely within a body of natural salt water, fresh water, or brackish water. Stagnant, poisoned, or trapped water (such as an artificial pit or a bag of holding) does not activate this ability. The Naiad can heal up to 2 hit points per level per day with this ability, after which it ceases to function.
  • Water Sense: Naiads can sense vibrations in water, granting them Blindsense 30 feet against creatures in contact with the same body of water.
