The Bloodlaw

The ancient kingdom of the Hobgoblins is a dark, hellish place that lies somewhere in the black northern mountains of the New World. They are home to powerful warriors and wicked sorcerers who have harnessed rough-hewn bitter steel to forge an endless war machine that haunts the people of Epona. They do this all in service to and fear of their Scourge, a hateful warrior who is the most savage of their people that forges his crown with the bones of his slain predecessor - for no one in the Bloodlaw dies a natural death.
Their underground cities reach deep below the earth and were hollowed out by countless generations of tortured slaves made up of all the races of Epona that they capture while raiding the surface world. The Hobgoblins make powerful mages, as they are unafraid to dabble in dark and terrible magic. Through this magic their empire has created and enslaved the Shale, a stone-like race of winged monstrosities whose powerful bodies the Scourge uses for his own means.
Where the Bloodlaw has delved deep into the rock of the world they have discovered terrible monsters, only in turn to unleash them upon the world in meaningless slaughter. Many adventurers who have gone in search of what lies beyond the Black Mountains, hoping perhaps to slay these monsters or to stay the blade of the Hobgoblin warmachine, only to disappear never to be seen again.
They were warned, of course, for if there is one word to strike terror in the hearts of those born in Epona it is Bloodlaw.
