Casval
The vast land of Casval lies in the east. Believed to be the largest continent in the Old World, its true size is unknown as the arid and inhospitable interior have made attempts at charting the land impossible.
Geography
The west coast of the continent and its great civilizations mark the edge of the enlightened world.
In the south and west, Casval is a lush and verdant farmland full of fertile valleys, warm summer rains, and vast fruit orchards. Crisscrossed by ice cold rivers of mountain meltwater and enormous lakes teeming with every form of life imaginable, Casval is home to some of the most beautiful and idyllic land in all the world. Even the harsher, higher places in Casval are not without their own value. Lake Avesta, high in the windswept mountains of Casval, is one the holiest waters in the world and the Yasna Falls it feeds are thought to be where the God Enlil ascended into heaven.
To the north, separated by arid steppe and mountain cliffs is the great Khayu Valley, a lush paradise forged in eons past by the great Siwa and Dendera rivers. Surrounded on all sides by great sand deserts, Khayu is one of the most isolated and mysterious places in the world.
Further north than Khayu, beyond the endless Great Seti Desert, is nothing but myth and legend. All who have gone have failed to return and tell of what lies to the north. Much as in the North, little is also known of the Great Grass Sea of the east. A land where the verdant fields turn to the rolling amber grasslands, where the rising sun rules the sky, and where water is worth its weight in gold. To most, this land of sand and grass is truly the ends of the earth.
