Needle MAW

Needle MAWs are a very rare type of archeotech, also encountered sometimes as an altertech. Their rarity is rivalled only by their deadly efficiency on the battlefield, which – together with special ammunition their require – means that they are extremely costly weapons. Not to mention that their archeotech version tends to be used by Guardians and Banshees, an extremely deadly hyperspace threats, which makes aquiring them even harder.
Needle MAWs are specially constructed MAWs that launch equally special monomolecular projectiles, that are very light, very small, very fast... and very deadly. Simultaneously. While most of the Needle MAWs are light calibre, they are more than capable of slicing through battleship armour at close range, with their fire rate meaning they are able to literally shred the supposedly well protected crew from the outside at ease.
What's more, the speed with which they fly means, that the medium calibre MAWs of this type of weapon have effective range actually slightly above manmade high calibre MAWs while retaining their ability to pierce battleship-level armour while causing devastating damage to the ship behind it. There also exist extremely rare 'ethereal' ammunition variant for them, that is capable of somehow 'phasing' through projectile shields (as long as they aren't too thick) making them a truly fearsome weapon.
