Compression MAW
Compression MAWs are a very rare type of archeotech (although sometimes encountered also as altertech) that is, thus, rarely used by navies and barely researched. Which is caused by both his rarity and tendency to break over use and generally being capable of only limited ammount of uses, making it a rather costly trump card to use.
Commaw launch projectiles in a typical way for MAWs, with abysmal difference in speed and efficiency with manmade MAWs. What's really interesting, though, is what occurs in a barrel during launch. When that happens, the rounds passes through several replaceable rings installed into barrel. Each of them somehow compresses particles from which the rounds is composed, making the matter much denser, massively increasing ability to penetrate armours.
The effect is a weapon with firerates similar to human MAWs, while achieving massive increase in penetration, allowing medium calibre MAWs to pierce battleship-level plating. Unfortunately, the compression rings have very limited estimated work time, tending to break after some uses (the biggest calibre, the bigger the burden and the lower ammount of compressions before the compressors fail). Each broken compressor ring means lower compression and lower boost in penetration, soon leading to the weapon no longer being just more costly MAW, no different than manmade in any thing other than price.
