Rowena

Landlord of Greenwich, Former Sheriff of West London

I've been here long before this sorry excuse of a treatise took place. I stood beside Queen Anne when she picked up the quill, dipped it into a bottle of her blood, and signed the Sevenfold Accords letting the Warlocks back into London. I've been before Great Mithras, god among vampires, and watched him present the Treaty of Durham every other full moon at Elysiae.   You look at me and see a beast, but this beast has lived the papers you worship. You pat yourselves on the back for managing to sit down next to each other and agree on barely anything worth a damn. I hold not a sliver of expectation that, before the ink is dry, you'll be at each other's throats again.   So be it, the beast will sign your bleeding Compact, but hear my words very carefully, landlords of London.   It will not be enough.

History

Rowena, former Sheriff of West London and present landlord of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, has played a significant role in London's development over the years. A staunch Camarilla supporter, she has been known to advocate for following the Traditions and the strengthening of kindred influence in London and the greater south of the British Isles.

Origins

Not much is known about Rowena's origins and her sire, and she is not a very forthcoming kindred in the first place. Most of the remaining kindred in London know her thanks to the previous position she occupied - that of Sheriff of West London under the administration of Queen Anne. A very competent Gangrel during a time and place where being part of a was frowned upon, she maintained cordial business relations with other seats of office such as the Scourge and the Primogen Council.   She has reportedly had a very close working relationship with Queen Anne, whom she greatly respected and mourned upon her Final Death. Similarly, Queen Anne had always been rather lenient on Rowena's more unorthodox methods of investigation and known to be appreciative of the results despite the means employed to get there.

Final Nights

After the Fall of London, her seat of Sheriff was no longer relevant to the goings-on of a broken city. Scrambling for a semblance of structure and order, she turned to her former Deputy, Siobhan, and made for the Eastern region of London. Historically poorer and more crowded than its Western counterpart, it was easier to hide in its many parks and neighbouring forests.   With the help of her deputy and a large dose of persistence, she has managed to strike an uneasy truce with some of the lupines living in Greenwich and Hackney, similarly targeted by Operation Antigen. Together they have managed to clean out the borough to a satisfactory level of safety, and prudent Kindred can make a decent unlife in her territory, as long as they do not mind giving a wide berth to green areas claimed by Lupines. Over time, she has come to be called Landlord. While loathe to assume superiority over her fellow survivors, Rowena understood better than most the power of legitimacy, and begrudgingly took on the mantle of Landlord of Greenwich.   While she had very little intention to get involved in Kindred politics again, the emergence of Madame B and her subsequent machinations to reinstate something close to Camarilla Law has had her reconsider her neutral position.

A Gangrel warrior originally from Ireland, Rowena is a staunch supporter of the Camarilla and a firm believer in its Traditions. Her unusual methods are usually forgiven by Queen Anne, but often put her at odds with her fellow Sheriffs.
