Lochrest

This world (while being created during WorldEmber 2022) is one of high fantasy and concepts of darker, more graphic fiction. Initially, this would be a makeover of a previous world I had been working on. I barely spent time on it, as I was really only learning about worldbuilding. Now, however, I have far more knowledge and insight about said worldbuilding and have realized that my previous writing was... well, hot garbage. I spent the time reading what I wrote and jeez; I didn't realize I was such a bad author.   My diction and vocabulary were so basic at the time. I believe that this epiphany came from reading more fantasy novels, especially ones that were more well-structured and incorporated aspects of hard and soft worldbuilding (which mine lacked completely). Notably, R. A. Salvatore's "The Legend of Drizzt" series had an impact, that intrigue that I was desperately craving to make. Interestingly enough, reading three books in that series did not immediately spark my reentry into writing.   It was the world of video games that did. Horizon: Zero Dawn, Elden Ring, Halo - these were the strikes of stone that rekindled my fire of creativity. The forge was once again ablaze and prepared for creativity. This will be the creation. This universe is dedicated to all aspiring and current writers. Never let your fires die. Let the forge burn and continue to create!
