Guild of the Arcane Trickster
Some rogues enhance their fine-honed skills of stealth and agility with magic, learning tricks of enchantment and illusion, or even powerful evocation spells to be casted in a pinch. These rogues include pickpockets and burglars, but also pranksters, mischief-makers, and a significant number of adventurers.
Guild of the Assassin
Those who fall under the training of the assassin have focused their training on the grim art of death. Those who adhere to this archetype are diverse: hired killers, spies, bounty hunters, and even specially anointed priests trained to exterminate the enemies of their deity. Stealth, poison, and disguise help assassins eliminate their foes with deadly efficiency.
Guild of the Inquisitive
Those who classify as inquisitives excel at rooting out secrets and unraveling mysteries. They rely on their sharp eye for detail, but also on a finely honed ability to read the words and deeds of other creatures to determine their true intent. Inquisitives excel at defeating creatures that hide among and prey upon ordinary folk, and their mastery of lore and sharp eyes make them well equipped to expose and end hidden evils.
Guild of the Mastermind
The mastermind focuses on people and on the influence and secrets they have. Many spies, courtiers, and schemers follow this archetype, leading lives of intrigue. Words are a mastermind's weapons as often as knives or poison, and secrets and favors are some of their favorite treasures.
Guild of the Scout
Scouts are skilled in woodcraft and stealth, allowing them to range ahead of their companions during expeditions. Rogues who embrace this archetype are at home in the wilderness and among barbarians and fighters, as they serve as the eyes and ears of war bands across the world. Compared to other rogues, scouts are skilled at surviving in the wilds.
Guild of the Swashbuckler
Swashbucklers focus their training on the art of the blade, relying on speed, elegance, and charisma in equal parts. While other warriors are brutes clad in heavy armor, a swashbuckler's method of fighting looks more like a performance. Rakes, duelists, and pirates typically follow this archetype.   A swashbuckler excels in single combat, and can fight with two weapons while safely darting away from an opponent. Swashbucklers are especially talented at making difficult maneuvers to escape enemies or attack from an unexpected direction.
Guild of the Thief
Rogues whose training classifies them as thieves hone their skills in the larcenous arts. Burglars, bandits, cutpurses, and other criminals typically follow this archetype, but so do rogues who prefer to think of themselves as professional treasure seekers, explorers, or delvers. In addition to improving their agility and stealth, those of the thief subclass learn skills useful for delving into ancient ruins, reading unfamiliar languages, and using magic items they normally couldn't employ.

Unearthed Arcana

Guild of the Phantom (UA)
Many rogues walk a fine line between life and death, risking their own lives and taking the lives of others. While adventuring on that line, some rogues discover a mystical connection to death itself. These rogues take knowledge from the dead and become immersed in negative energy, eventually becoming like ghosts. Thieves’ guilds value them as highly effective information gatherers and spies.   Many shadar-kai of the Shadowfell are masters of these macabre techniques, and some are willing to teach this path. In places where many necromancers practice their craft, a Phantom can become a wizard’s confidant and right hand. In temples of gods of death, the Phantom works as an agent to track down those who try to cheat death and to recover knowledge that might otherwise be lost to the grave.   In playing a phantom, it is important to ask yourself how exactly you discovered this grim power. Did you sleep in a graveyard and awaken to your new abilities? Or did you cultivate them in a temple or thieves’ guild dedicated to a god of death?
Guild of the Soulknife (UA)
A Soulknife possesses powerful psionic potential, channeling this reservoir of inner magic into tangible blades of psychic energy, striking at their victims' minds. They find easy employment as members of thieves' guilds, being particularly sought after as assassins, since their signature psychic blades leave behind no visible wounds.   As a Soulknife, your psionic abilities might have haunted you since you were a child, only revealing their potential when your psychic knives first appears. Or you might have sought out a reclusive order of psionic assassins and spent years learning how to manifest your deadly blades.

Homebrew

Guild of the Arrow
Rogues are already well-known for their ability to snipe from the shadows. Those who follow the Arrow, however, have taken their love of archery to the next level, using carefully aimed shots to snipe their targets from far away.
Guild of the Bouncer
Most rogues focus on the elegant arts of infiltration, trickery, and mind games. Bouncers, on the other hand, prefer the simple but effective techniques of the back alleys—using anything within your reach as a weapon, even your foes themselves. Bouncers rely more on brute strength and an ability to tie your opponents in knots than cunning, though they of course know better than to discard any natural advantages. Other rogues may think bouncers lack guile, but a bouncer would rather have a reputation for an iron fist than a silver tongue.
Guild of the Delver
The average rogue targets wealthy individuals, attempting to relieve them of said wealth. But the delver has learned the best payout comes not from another person's wealth, but that of a dangerous creature deep within its lair. The extraordinary danger involved in robbing creatures like dragons sets these rogues apart from other thieves as experts in high-risk burglary, with an eye for planning and detail to ensure their survival. Never content with their last spoils, delvers keep plotting and researching how best to subvert the traps and obstacles in their way.
Guild of the Jester
Comedy is an art form that some few study with an almost religious zeal, honing their words and their blades with endless practice and performance. Some that style themselves as jesters are simple entertainers with an adventurous bent, while others are genuine devotees of trickster deities, and consider their jesting a holy calling of sorts. Regardless, a jester is a student of life, emotion, and culture, and appreciates both the highs and lows afforded to mortals by the conditions in which they live. Occupying a unique place in society as professional outcasts, jesters can often talk or act how they please within broader limits than those imposed on their peers, as people are quick to write off a jester as a simple lunatic or fool. A jester observes and comments, always knowing the right word or phrase to get a laugh, a tear, a bellow of murderous rage, or to simply swing the opinions of others their way.
Guild of the Operative
When a church or cult needs to deal with an issue that’s outside of its normal portfolio, they turn to paladins. However, most paladins are rather straight forward, acting big and bold; to them, all the world is a nail and they are the hammer. Sometimes, more subtlety is needed. That’s where the operatives come in. Part divine emissary and part assassin, operatives are avowed members of the church that use the shadows and silence to deal with the church’s dirty deeds. Using extreme measures and murder to get their way, operatives know they can never be officially part of the church, but most work in secret and death, forever working for a cause that cannot assist them.
Guild of the Ripper
Those that call themselves rippers are brutal killers that excel at eliminating your foes with their chosen weapon: the dagger. Rogues that classify within this guild are leg breakers, thugs, murderers, or thrill seekers, their unique abilities allowing them to devastate their foes with expertly placed strikes and intimidate those that bare witness to their gory display of skill. Their reputation is often so fearsome that the very name of a ripper has a tendency to prevent fights before they begin.
Guild of the Swindler
The tools of the swindler's trade are a silver tongue and wit keener than any blade. Those who fit this archetype are often as foolish as they are wise, talking themselves into trouble as often as out of it. Armed with clever words and cunning plans, tricksters make for unlikely heroes with tales of their acts of canny bravery and skillful deceit becoming the stuff of legend.
