The Galvanized Zone

The Galvanized Zone is a two hundred thousand square mile span of area on the planet Pulmonary Minor. The Galvanized Zone is inhospitable to all lifeforms who are not suited for its harsh enviroment. The Peoples Republic of The Vector System attempted to colonize this strech of land due to the heavy amounts of iron but were ultimatly unsuccessful. This was due to the intense weather the Galvanized Zone experiances on a daily basis, The Zone recives Major Lightning Storms on an hourly basis and can create lightning tornadoes that thrash any thing not built for the zone. The lightning storms can be attributed to the mix of silver, iron, zinc, and aluminum this creates the perfect recipe to attract thunderstorms and lightning stikes. Lighning is not the only think you need to worry about in the Galvanized Zone, wind speeds regularly pass 150 MPH. The wind speeds plus the mountains in the north and warm ocean in the south creates the pefect conditions for tornadoes that rip through the area and can last for days. With these conditions you would expect no life is suitable for this enviroment but life always finds a way and there are a few specis that call the zone their home.  The most prominent Species are the Lightning Crabs which absorb energy from lightning.  One of the Major players in the ecosystem is the Purple Java Indus a purple moss that grows on the sides of rocks they get many of their nutrients from the wind which blows debris into them.  They major apex predator is the Mega Ullimex, A bird with a rounded beak and huge wings that patrols the skys of the zone and preys on the Lightning Crab.  Its graish hue allows them to stay hidden in the sky, and their rounded beaks house sharp teeth to devour lightning crab.
