Lizard Lung

Lizard Lung is a chronic illness caught from any reptile that has a saliva mutation that produces Microbacterium Narce.  The Microbacterium Narce will attack your lungs and eventually spread to the skin casuing a rough scale looking skin.  People who catch this disease oftem get it when they're young and will live with it ther entire life granted they get the right treatments.  Once the skin has become rough and scale like they often get discriminated against and are ostracized from communities all together,

Transmission & Vectors

Lizard Lung can be caught from any reptillian you come in contact with.  It cannot be transfered human to human.

Causes

The Microbacterium Narce is the bacteria that will infect you with this cronic illness.  Reptiles will become carriers through a mutation in their salival glands and will produce the Microbacterium Narce instead of their regular bacteria,  The Micrbacterium will not affect the lizard.  Once a human comes in contact with an infected reptile the saliva will seep into their pores and get into the blood stream where it will go undetected and make its way to the lungs.

Symptoms

Lizard Lung goes symptomless for the first few weeks of being infected but quickley spirals out of control.  The first symptom you will see is a vulagr cough, as the Microbacterium duplicates in your lungs your airways will start to tighten.  The second symptom that usually arises in the infected individual is the roughing of the skin almost scale like it will start on your lower mouth/lips and work its way around the body.  The roughing of the skin is the trademark of the infection and where it gets its name.  The 3rd and last symptom before it can kill you is muscle spasms the microbacterium has worked its way around your whole body and is targeting your muscles last, at this point in time the infection is woking its way to your heart and heart attacks are inevitable

Treatment

There is litle to no treatment for Lizard Lungs but there are ailments that slow the process.  One ailment that can help the rough scaley skin is Rygrem Cream it is able to moisturise the skin and help replinish neccesary nutrients.  The only way to slow the eating of the muscles and lungs is the Argrevian Seeds, these are rare seeds that are found at the top of Argrevian trees and are able to slow infection by blocking the micrbacterium and sealing it into one area for a short amount of time.

History

There is a deep rooted history resulting in major cultural shifts from society.  Before the disease was studied people who contracted the disease were known as Lizard People and were sent to camps to work in the mines.  People who contracted Lizard Lung are often discriminated against throughout all of history.  A major societal event that changed the view of these people is the Thermine Rebellion, this rebellion was a group of infected individuals from the Thermine Mine who had enough of the discrimination and hatred toward them.  They stormed through the Thermine Mine killing their captures and quickley moved toward neighboring villages.  After a day the rebellion was finally put down.  This rebellion did not help the people opinons on the infected, people often discriminated against them more after the rebellion.

Cultural Reception

In the past the "Lizard People" were feared and ostracized from villages and sent to camps, now that the disese has been studied the infected indivifduals are allowed back into society but still most people still fear them. People with the disease have the trademark "lizard skin" people with the skin are often still excluded from most jobs with signs reading "No Reptiles Needed". Cultures often dehumanize the Infected and even abuse them on the streets. Most infected individuals resort to wearing dark cloaks and covering their heads using white bandages.
