Myconid

Myconids were a race of ambulatory fungus creatures. Like mushrooms they were sensitive to sunlight and so they usually stuck to the caverns and caves of the Underdark.

Description

Myconids resembled giant mushrooms and could be anywhere from 2 to 12 feet in height. The cap of a Myconid was basically it's head. The upper half of their stalks split into two arms below the cap, and the lower half split into legs towards the bottom. Each of these extremities was pudgy and broad, with their hands ending in two stubby fingers and a thumb, and their feet hosting numerous vestigial toes. This number was not absolute however, with some Myconids hosting more than the usual number of limbs and/or digits.   The bloated flesh of most Myconids ranged in coloration from purple to gray. Two eyes rested on their caps, perfectly concealed against the rest of their spongy skin when shut. Some Myconids secreted a poisonous ooze from near everywhere but their hands
