Jemine (Jeuh-meen, Jee-mine)

Jemine is a northern-classified country bordering Elarquie in the west, Alleses in the east, Kalen in the south and the Free Lands in the north. Jemine's capital is Arya.

Toponymy

The etymology of the country is unknown, though it is tradition among locals, especially those in the southwestern region, to tell: the founder and first queen of Jemine, Lizzie-Anne the Protector, had been a solitary explorer camping on the land that would later become Arya. She had been minding her own business when John LeSter of Alesses and his band of explorers had come and asked, "And whose land is this?" Lizzie-Anne had become flustered and said, "Gee, mine."

Though it is most commonly accepted that the pronunciation is Jeuh-mine, most southwestern Jemini are adamant on pronouncing it as Jee-mine as the anecdote dictates.
