Human

A Special Guide‌ by Paulie Chlorogero and Maírín

Humans are so goddamn weird. Their abilities are mundane, their capabilities are limited, they live so little, yet they do so much, so so much, they're always doing more, learning more, making more, claiming more. How much those folk can accomplish is unnerving.

They are scariest people in all of Limitless.

They are also extremely biased, and are therefore not trusted in writing an article about themselves, so instead we have adventurers Paulie and Maírín rising to the task instead.

Basic Information

Anatomy

A standard two arms, two legs, round, fleshy ears, no tail or other protuberances. They're called the cookie-cutter folk, as it appears that every other folk is a human with altered features.

Growth Rate & Stages

Compared to most folk, humans are fairly short-lived. They mature quickly; they grow out of infancy by two, reach adolescence by thirteen, and by twenty-five, they are fully developed (though that's not saying much if you think about it). They begin to grey by fifty or sixty and will die from seventy to a hundred.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

They're everywhere. With their curiosity, ambition, and ability to adapt to even the harshest environments, they explored and populated any place not already inhabited (and sometimes they couldn't even extend that courtesy). It was humans who drew the map of Limitless, tracing borders throughout the land and appointing themselves leaders of their newly-made countries.

Nowadays, they are one of the most populous sapient species, living everywhere but the Free Lands.

Average Intelligence

Like all sapients, humans are wicked smart, with the intelligence and sense to build and destroy empires. However, their wisdom and foresight is comparatively below average. Those folk do awful things to one another and other species, it's insane.

Civilization and Culture

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Most other sapients can range from intrigued (ex. elves) to impressed (ex. sirens) to terrified (ex. pandeans) when it comes to humans.

Humans have some negative stereotypes about goblins being thieves, yet they are the ones who have a reputation of taking land and appropriating culture from other species and themselves. Some, like elves and some other faeries, are not too affected by these human tendencies, but many such imps, lȳtfolk and most demons can range from wary to highly offended.

The humans' haughtiness and belief that they are superior does not help in such relations.
