Curse of Frost
Doomed, doomed to linger, to stagger forward as hollow corpses. To wander among the deadlands, the white-tipped trees, the boughs of Winter. - ProphetThe Curse of Frost. Among the people of Regnum Regnorum, it is but a whisper at the dinner table. A subtle threat, one passed from lips to lips, unsealed. The Curse is the ultimate weapon, they say—a weapon wielded by none other than the Witch herself, Queen of Regnum Hiberum. As the War rages, prophets across the Seventh Kingdom warn of a terrible coming. An unavoidable fate that spells doom for King and His people, despite everything. A coming of Frost.
Manifestation
Should the Curse take, it will be a neverending Winter. Frost will take the living, and the living will fall. Kingdom will crumble. Stone will crack, wood will petrify, and the very foundations of society will groan beneath the onslaught of sheer cold. White will blanket the land and grey the sky. Those touched by the Curse will perish, surely, one way or another. But the otherwordly travelers who wander Regnorum Regnum will suffer an even worse fate, one their immortal nature cannot shake: the clutch of Frost. Never may they leave the Cursed land -- not in body, not soul. Even their soulless husks chase their former occupants, determined to snuff out the spark that survives the blistering weather.Localization
It is said the Witch Queen patiently awaits the day she may unleash the Curse upon the Seventh Kingdom, and the Seventh Kingdom only. Those who know more than they should say more: the Court stays the Witch's hand. Though Winter holds the weapon to end all war, there are politics at play. Promises and premises. Rules and Regnums. It is only at the announcement of the King of Kings that the Witch began to stir, her armies shedding their furs in favor of cold steel. The King fears the Witch, say the people, and rightly so. For not even the Wizard knows the Word for Frost, a gift plucked from Avalon itself, delivered as compensation for an ancient wrong.
