Stories of Foreign Lands

Very, very rarely, once a century at best, ship of strange design will come to the docks of Ildmelu. The crew of mostly-animalistic humanoids can be communicated with through magic means (tongues, comprehend languages) or the occasional crewmate that speaks a planar language like Primordial or Celestial. A few things are consistent about their stories; and make up the limited information Ildmelu has about the rest of the material plane.

The Eldritch Ocean - Uncrossable Waters

  • More boats attempt to cross the Eldritch Ocean than the boats that do actually make it, but the vast majority are never heard from again.
  • The boats that do successfully cross state their passing was completely unimpeded, but survivorship bias may be in play.
  • There has been no mention that boats of Ildmelu successfully reaching the shores of Muso.
  • Texts pre-dating the Infernal War the oral history of the Aventi tell of vast undersea empire of Aboleths.

Muso - The Empire of Dead Gods

  • Long ago, the mortals of Muso rose up against their gods and struck them down; power granted by deities simply does not work on the continent.
  • The corpses of the pantheon dominate parts of the landscape, and the release of divine power caused significant changes in the terrain near where they were slain.
  • From provided maps, the continent is roughly the size of Ildmelu, though the divine ichor that suffuses the land causes drastic variations in the climate of local areas.
