Personal history

Auburn was born Ophelia Oak, the mutant daughter of a relatively normal English couple who had moved to the eastern coast of the united states a few years after the start of the cold war. Ophelia was a normal child up until her 15th birthday when her mutant powers began to manifest. The only outward change was her eyes, previously a light blue, one became pure white, and the other pure black. Other than that the only change seemed to be that she was always extremely healthy she rarely got sick and when she did she recovered quickly. Years later, when she attempted to kill herself after the death of a lover is when she found her true power. She couldn't die, no matter what happened to her she would eventually get back up whole, and hearty.  She struggled with this immortality for a long time, and despite her calm and cool demeanor she often still has trouble with the simple facts of an immortal life. Sometime during the early 90's Ophelia, now going by Auburn came, briefly, into possession of the soul stone, and some residual energy from that artifact unlocked a new aspect of her powers, and ability to control life and death to a limited extent.
