Lharonde

Created by

Lharonde is an immense continent, the largest in the world. This plane as you know it was created 600 years ago by Aaroi. The Aaroi are primal aspects that shaped all of existence, and finished with Lharonde. Some Aaroi have left this plane, and some are seen roaming, some have kept a domain in the world, but few have been confirmed to exist since they are as elusive as they are powerful. Each Aaroi represents a force in the world. These forces are not understood by mortals fully, the closest that they can come to are mere words that can describe the domain that the Aaroi governs. It’s been a long time since this plane was created, and knowledge of the Aaroi has been forgotten and obscured by the flowing river of time.   The races of Lharonde have been quarrelling with each other for the longest time. In the beginning there were mainly humans and Orcs who reigned as the early sentient races, with the others burgeoning in the shadows. The humans and orcs of old were warring over territory, until the other races laid claim for their own lands. The orcs numbers eventually dwindled, and pureblood orcs eventually laid no claim to any lands as they were driven out by the conquering human tribes. Half-orcs have become a product of this prolonged conflict, with Half-orcs being taken in by their orc parent, or serve as the lower class in human society. Dragonborn, Tieflings, and Half-Elves developed their own countries on the westernmost part of Lharonde, participating in wars among themselves. The Elven races were quiet and neutral during these conflicts, only interacting when it comes to trade. When the human tribes were united by Alich the Conqueror, the Mieran Empire was created.   Under Emperor Alich’s rule, the advancement of magic and technology was heightened, leading to many advances in magical items, called Curios, being created and used by the populace. This all changed in the year 458, when the Mieran Isles first appeared over Lharonde. This marked another epoch for the world that scholar’s named the Waning. Pools of magic in Lharonde were depleted, leaving only small rivulets and the greater leylines behind. This sparked the expansion of the Mieran Empire across Lharonde, leading to the creation of a coalition between Dragonborn, Tieflings, and Half-Elves, called the Gairuk. The Elven races didn’t take too kindly to the expansion of the Mieran Empire, which led to the complete halt of trade with any outside races. The Elven races, now referred to as the Deljör, have retreated from their lands back into their forests and have refused any political parties from entering, going so far as to killing any trespassers. The Gairuk are expanding their territory, using diplomacy with the Mieran Empire to gain new lands. The Deljör are preparing for war, training their small army of bladesingers, who are capable of taking down 10 fighters each. They will defend the forests fiercely, which were granted to them by Ikhael, the Ironfather. Ikhael abandoned his claim to Lharonde and led the Dwarves underground in search of the greatest and rarest ores. Few Dwarves have come to the surface, mainly scouts who keep the Dwarves informed of what goes on in Lharonde, or merchants who sell the vast amount of treasure that has been found underground. This is the current state of affairs in Lharonde, and the future looks tense.
