Serberkers

The Serberkers are a part of the Cuprum nomadic tribe, located in the Northernmost region on Legere- the island of the Dawn Wastelands where the infamous The Nether Fountain rests. The Serberkers are the warrior caste of those people, fighting against the many monsters that threaten their people. They are also ingenious craftsmen, utilizing completely magic-free armour, tools and weapons. Why magic free? The Nether Fountain itself creates a magic-disrupting sphere of influence, weakening the effectiveness of magical devices to the point of complete nullification at the center of the sphere. Because of this, the Serberkers were forced to adapt and create their own tools capable of dealing with the creatures that they hunt or are hunted by. Serberkers are also quite honorable contrary to popular belief. While many see them as savage barbarians, Serberkers are learned individuals who live by a code, almost to the same level of zeal found in a Paladin. They live to defend their people, dedicated to containing and destroying the monsters spawned by the Nether Fountain’s poison. Unfortunately there are some who live above the Serberkers laws, shipping the bones of the Dawn Wasteland’s creatures to the mainland to sell- such mutant creatures not only look bizarre and hence make interesting wall hangers, but sometimes their remains are imbued with a sliver of the Nether Fountain’s magic-nullifying force.
Serberkers are comprised of 4 divisions (referred to as Orders): The Order of Tankwill, the Order of Castlearm, the Order of Vespidmind, and the Order of Swordeye

History

The Serberkers were the force originally used by the ancient Cuprum Kingdom before the Calamity occurred. Modern Cuprum Nomads still bestow this name upon their warriors in an effort to continue on their ancestors' legacies.
