Treatise on the Rights and Grievances of the Trephian People

With intent to be distributed to all those who claim descendancy from the migrants of Trepheon, as well as the Mons, Feyans, Aridians and all other peoples of Ludwag: a plea and call to action regarding the placement of the Trephian people in North Ludwag.   Section I. Grievances
It is with a heavy heart that I, Cormac O’Lennon, write what I perceive to be a necessary step in the advancement and preservation of my people, as well as in the ultimate interest of all persons on this continent.   Before I begin to detail the requests and deeds necessary to achieve the ends of advancement, I must first attribute the reason for this necessity.   Nearly two centuries ago, our people fled en masse by boat to this continent. What we sought was refuge from the catastrophe which had desecrated our homeland and robbed us of our livelihoods. Thus, all nations and creeds of the old lands in the west were united; all had lost, and all were refugees, foreigners to this land. The locals- the Mons, the Aridians, the Silvic- knew nothing of our people, our language, or our allegiances. Only our plight. And it is with gratitude that we have come to ingratiate ourselves within their homeland. However, our survival alone has not been guaranteed- and is not enough.
  1. The first such grievance was the destruction of our homeland which resulted in our seeking of refuge. This, however, is not all that my people have been subjugated to.
In recent days, it has come to light a series of circumstances which have served the disgrace, desecration and ultimate means of destruction for our people.
  1. Though we sought refuge in this foreign land, our survival was never guaranteed. The Lattern family, hereditary rulers of the kingdom of Latteras, organized the abominable atrocities to which the evil organization called the Runic Guild subjected us and our kin. Hundreds of us, if not many many more, were slaughtered at the hands of those we trusted to shelter us from the perdition we had so narrowly escaped from. This is the second grievance.
This alone is not the end of our suffering. Such is clear in every way today, and in the separation and subjugation of our peoples.
  1. The Trephian people have been scattered throughout Ludwag, at most subsisting amongst the foreign lands in family units or individually, amalgamating to the present culture. Right now, we are a lost people; one which the powers that be would never care to accommodate, as we have seen through the ruthless brutality we have faced in the North.
Section II. Rights
As indicated by the abolition of serfdom by King Peter of Latteras, as well as the absence of it under the reign of the Zutvhas of Arcenix and their abolition of indentured servitude, individuals are invested with particular rights by virtue of their life and permission by the law.   Thus, I set forth rights and privileges which are necessary to the Trephian people:
  • The right to citizenship in the state of our habitation
  • The right to practice the traditions of our homeland
  • The right to our continued survival, free of unjust subjugation or slaughter
  • The right to our own political sovereignty and governance
  • The right to defend and retaliate against threats
Section III. Acts, Requests and Demands
In order to redress these grievances and guarantee the preservation of our people’s rights, I have composed a series of calls to action, requests, and demands.
  • A call to action, to develop an area of land within North Ludwag for the Trephian people to live and govern themselves autonomously.
  • A call to action, to organize a militia concerned with defending the Trephian people.
  • A request that the nations of Ludwag provide aid in procuring such an area of land.
  • A request that the reigning monarch of Latteras formally recognize and denounce the Trephian genocide.
  • A demand that the governments and territories of Ludwag peaceably allow for the development of such an area of land where Trephian people can live in peace.
  • A demand that the rights outlined in Section II be respected by the governments and territories of Ludwag.
It is my hope that through the publication, publicization and practice of that which I have outlined in this document I may secure a future for my people and a future which is mutually beneficial to all the other peoples of North Ludwag whom we must live and work with, whether one likes it or not.
