Stratalus, King of the Earth

Stratalus is the earthen god, controlling all aspects and manners relating to that of the earth. He wields a longsword capable of splitting mountains or causing thundering earthquakes. It is told in the stories of old that, in rebellion, he lifted the continents of Azura from the sea. He is often represented by a large humanoid made of stone.   The “King of the Earth”. Stratalus is regarded as the great crafter of Azura and its continents. One of the oldest legends of Azura says that, in a moment of anger against Astraleus, he left the Heavens and attempted to build his own kingdom on Azura by shaping the continents out of Parthan’s Great Sea. Parthan, who thought that she could keep Azura for herself, was furious, and a great war between Earth and Sea ensued for countless ages.   Stratalus is usually depicted as a giant, faceless figure of stone - but another common depiction of him is a tall man with a beard of ores and stone; wearing dirty brown and grey robes. His shrines are often made in caverns or on mountaintops, and other geological formations where his worshippers feel closest to the height of his craftsmanship. Mortals who make mines and quarries, or who build atop his land, must make offerings to appease him, lest they suffer his wrath in the form of tremendous earthquakes that are known to flatten entire cities. He is seen as a glorious and triumphant god as he receives many prayers in times of war from feeble and strong warriors alike to bless them with strength and knowledge of battle.   The worship of Stratalus is primarily upheld in Silvadomus by his traditional cult, the Conjurite Sacrament. In recorded history, it is said that only one Prophet of Stratalus was to ever exist in the realm, however, their true story is lost in time.
