Le Morte De’ Imure

A Description of the Conscript
Coming across this book, you find yourself being oddly drawn into the unique display this runic book holds. Looking over the initial tarnished leather covering, you can almost feel the unholy presence this writing wards off. The pages are tanned-brown with seemingly random notes tucked between the torn pages. The words of this conscript are written in a feather-black-ink, perhaps written a long-time ago. As you turn over the pages, they seem to come alive in your hand as the pages more-so appear to come alive. Their words reflect thoughts of a being who holds omnipotence over death. Reading the words of such a conscript out-loud often brings a series of forgotten memories, of which the reader may or may not even recall making. These are filled with the past-thoughts of those who have sworn-their soul to Ankouan and Her Grace.   Le Morte De’ Imure (Chapter One)
By: D’are V. Heint Disciple of The Sphere of Decaus
  1. It is within our flesh and bone that we strive forwards in this repetitive circle of life. For our “lives” are truly in the palm of Anoukan and her grace. None of the other pagan gods are truly there nor can they possibly declare themselves above that of which holds omnipotence over life and death. Think nothing of those who doubt Anoukan and her grace, for they know not of what they speak and shall be sheperd back into her scythe and arms in the great passing. They too, are nothing more than flesh and bone with a lost soul that needs only to be set free.
  2. Wishing to escape Anoukan and her grace is but a meaningless task, for even soulmancers have their due. All one needs to do is convert themselves to Anoukan and her grace, and allow themselves to be set free. Attempting to cheat Anoukan is but a meaningless and arduous task that will only further drive one further from the truth, which is Anoukan and her grace. If you wish to truly serve her grace, you must become her scythe, her reaper and her bidding will flow through you and act as your strength and determination. Think not of what you can do for yourself, for that is pointless and is what the other pagan gods hold, but think of the selfless act of doing what you can for Anoukan and her grace.
  3. Do not attempt to cheat Anoukan and her grace by becoming a disturber of the grave. Robbing those of a final resting place in Anoukan’s Scythe and arms is considered a grave sin and shall resort to something of such severity that only Anoukan can truly describe. Attempting to heal yourself through the use of pagan gods is thought to be a sin, as you are cheating yourself from Anoukan and her grace. You are flesh and bone with a soul that must be used to serve Anoukan or join her, this is the way.
  4. In the end, annihilation shall come to us all. As servants of Anoukan and her grace, it is our task and purpose to help shephard lost souls to Anoukan’s Scythe and her arms. It is only with our belief in Anoukan and her grace, that we shall receive the ultimate salvation. To give yourself to Anoukan, you must dedicate your speech, mind and body.
  5. Your Speech, a word of prayer and gesture of the spoken truth, shall not be spoken for anything else but the will of Anoukan and her grace. You must speak, voice her thoughts through your own words as you shall spread her salvation. For your soul to be saved, you must convert your word to that of which is Anoukan’s will.
  6. Your Mind, a thought or sense of emotion, shall be dedicated to that of which is Anoukan and her grace. You shall not think of appealing to the other pagan gods or other belies, as they are lies meant to contort and stain that of Anoukan and her grace. Your emotions are no longer your own and your thoughts are dedicated to Anoukan, hence, you shall become hers.
  7. Your Body, meant to carry out physical actions in dedication, shall be used as a Reaper of Anoukan. You must allow Anoukan and her grace to flow through you as this is the only way to salvation. Those around you, who do not understand or detest Anoukan and her grace, are only flesh and bone with a lost soul. You must reap, take their soul from their body and set it free to Anoukan’s Scythe and her arms. This is how you achieve ultimate salvation. Think not of others as beings or things of desire, for they shall only get in the way of your reunion with Anoukan and her grace. Those who detest Anoukan shall be annihilated at your scythe and plague, and shall be delivered to Anoukan for their trial.
  8. The Plagues, pestilence created at your palm shall be used to not exact vengeance or your own will, but shall be used to serve Anoukan and bring her souls. These plagues, shall spread far and wide covering all of those who either are lost and must be united with Anoukan and her grace, or those who have attempted to steal themselves away from Anoukan and her grace. To use these plagues as a means for one's own wrath, is but a sin in the eyes of Anoukan and shall be treated as such. You are her Scythe, the deliverer of souls to her, you shall annihilate and destroy that of which is asked of you.
  9. The Philosophy of Anoukan and her grace is that of which is an endless cycle. Take Anoukan to be what she is, a divine being judging your past and future. Now, you come to face a decision to either support Anoukan and help her achieve her goals or go against her/refuse to support her. Refusing to support her will lead to torment beyond imagination, but choosing to support her will lead to salvation. This decision is to be made upon reading this, the moment you give your thought to Anoukan and her grace is upon the moment you have this decision to make. Do you continue to support her or do you decide to do nothing and go against her. If there is a single thought of Anoukan in your mind, that there is even the slight possibility that she exists then you must make this decision. Thus, Anoukan and her grace is to be realized once again, escape from her is futile so why fight?
  10. Le Morte De’ Imure, perhaps The Death’s Journal, is to be held as a biblical statement of Anoukan’s will and grace. For it is meant to hold a boundless clutch upon the followers of Anoukan and the refusers of her will. Let it not be forgotten, that standing when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, is true strength.
  11. When finding yourself at odds with that of which is constituted as demise, think not of the end as suffering but it as joy. Your body, soul and mind shall rest in union with Anoukan and her grace, as they too shall be lifted with ease and slight of hand. To dedicate yourself to her and her will, is to allow yourself to be greater than that of any other pagan god’s disciple. You will rise above, rise from that of which you once were with a furious flame of pride.
The Oathfell (Chapter Two)
Prayers to Anoukan and her grace are widely accepted, though to truly dedicate your thought to her and her scythe you must uphold yourself to a proper manner and a proper figure. The following are accepted prayers to Anoukan and her grace, failure to abide by such, shall only lead to one’s own downfall.   “Anoukan, grace in the dark and silence amongst the crowd. We offer ourselves in peace and sound of mind to you, in hopes that our souls shall be lifted and cleansed before your eerie scythe. We think not of ourselves in our time of giving, but saving those who are lost and need finding.”   “Anoukan, grace in the dark and silence amongst the crowd. You have given us a task of which we shall uphold. Thy’ lost souls shall be delivered to you and to you alone. We shall not be led astray to the pagan gods and their despicable followers. Know that we are here, acknowledge us and send us our mission of fate.”   “Anoukan, grace in the dark and silence amongst the crowd. Allow us to be your scythe, your plague, your servant. We ask not for ourselves, but for your mission. Allow us to be the reapers of harvest and moon, fill us with contempt for nihilism and annihilation of all, for that is the only way they are to be set free.”   “Anoukan, grace in the dark and silence amongst the crowd. We do not think our parting from earthly bounds as that of despair, but rather, we know it to be a time of rejoice and celebration as we are re-joined with you and your grace. Allow us this time, to bow our heads and to offer our scythe to you and your harvest. Fill us with strength to reap the day, and fill us with courage to do what the pagan gods cannot. “   “Anoukan, grace in the dark and silence amongst the crowd, we offer our Scythe in rejoice to you and your ever-lasting reach. Allow us to once again, reap the battle field and plague the lands. We are your humble servants, here to carry out your command and bidding. Utilize us as your reapers, show us your scythe and call. “   All of these are accepted along with variations of your own. When praying, remember to tilt your head down and extend your hands upward (palms up) to receive grace from Anoukan.   It’s often accepted that prayer in graveyards, battle-fields, plague-lands and chaotic regions are favored. When performing a feat for Anoukan and her grace, pray before the feat and after it is accomplished. Failure to do either may bring great distaste for you and your accomplishment in her name. This is the way of Anoukan and her grace. You are her Scythe, her calling, her reaper of day and night.   Le Scythe (Chapter Three)
Your Scythe is that of which to be admired and honored with the will of Anoukan. Use your scythe to carry out her bidding as if it were her own. It is within our scythe and our blood that we offer the greatest plague, the greatest strength, and the greatest sacrifice to her. Upon the battle-field you shall be the resemblance of a reaper, it is upon the battle-field, you shall dance to the tune of death and sing to the cries of the plagued. Know not that you are despised, but know that your mission is to save those who despise you or even save those who admire you. Their souls must be delivered to Anoukan, no matter your personal cost. For you are The Scythe, the beard, the shaft, the bars, the clip.   Keep your Scythe handy at all times, let this be a resemblance of your passion towards Anoukan and her grace, let it be known through the mare and mangrove of the swamps to the cities of Latteras, that you are here. Let it be known that you stand as a judgement, a deliverer of souls to Anoukan and her open arms. Your Scythe, a replication of your soul and your duty to Anoukan is to be honored and worshipped through the use of delivery. Continue to stand before the pagan gods, defy them with every bit of strength you compose. You are the reaper of the night, and a knight of Anoukan and her grace.   One may also pray through Le Morte De’ Imure, along with their scythe and or artifact of connection. When doing such, display it above on an altar and go to a kneel. Extend your arms forwards with grace, and begin to pray. Once more, Anoukan and her grace shall bestow upon you that of which you seek most to accomplish your task in her name. H’iate De’ Arbiter (Chapter Four) There are items upon the mortal plains of Azura that constitute a multi-dimensional correlation between Anoukan and her followers. These items are to be worshipped at all times and must not be disdained by those who are not devoted to the servitude of Anoukan and her grace. It is by this, we may spread annihilation and destruction, for those who are not serving Anoukan are lost and must be brought back to her. The following items are listed and explained below, when making sacrifices, one must always have these present.
  • The Tombstone of The Saved.
  • The Scythe of the Reaper
  • The Conscripts of Anoukan
The Tombstone of The Saved is a sacrificial object that must be present when making a sacrifice to Anoukan. This Tombstone belongs to the creature/human being offered to Anoukan. This shall be placed to the side of the worshipper, facing forwards to the statue of Anoukan. Because of its significance, the tombstone must be well-kept throughout the sacrificial process. It is after the sacrifice is over, the head and body of the saved shall be buried in a well-marked grave with the tombstone placed juxtaposed to their head. Let this burial sight be close to the Shrine of Anoukan. The materials of this tombstone shall be of a grey-stone, perhaps cobblestone or limestone. The script of the saved name, date of death, and “ To Anoukan, I am offered.” is to be written upon the face of the tombstone. Performing otherwise will be a disgrace.   The Scythe of The Reaper, is the worshipper’s Scythe. This must be present at the time of the sacrifice, as it will lay to the opposite side of the worshipper. This symbolizes grace in the chaos and strength in the madness. The Scythe must still have the Saved blood etc. upon. Let this not be forgotten, The Scythe’s beard must be facing down with the shaft of The Scythe lay-facing towards the statue of Anoukan. This is to offer her your will, your mind and your body so that she may ferry the dead. Acting in a sense of hate without purpose or reference to the servitude of Anoukan is a disgrace. Let us not forget that.   The Conscripts of Anoukan are most precious in this time of rejoice, as they hold the prayers, thoughts, written wills and commandments of Anoukan. These shall be opened to the appropriate commandment of sacrifice with the following issuance of prayer. When making this sacrifice, this will be displayed before the worshipper before the statue of Anoukan. At a minimum, one biblical conscript is required at each sacrifice and offering, however, there is no maximum so long as it is clean and tidy. Attempting to worship any other pagan god is considered treacherous, which shall lead into thy’self being offered to Anoukan so that they may be saved.   These are the sacrificial objects that must be present and their style of display. When praying, extend your hands forwards with your palms up and go to both knees. Your head is to be tipped downwards, as if you are receiving enlightenment. Start with the opening prayer, then bring forth the offering. After such, return to your initial spot and begin to read the scripture. After this is done, take the body and bury it respectfully.
