Kingdom of Silvadomus

The Kingdom of Silvadomus is a nation of proud and sturdy people hailing through ages of strife and chaos throughout their history. The end of Pyros and the Age of Spirits has allowed this nation to flourish alongside its neighbors. The nation consists mostly of Feyans with a minority of Meridians taking refuge in Silvadomus alongside a sizable minority of Drows and various other races.   Pre-Pyrosi Rule
Establishment of Silvadomus (~915 BC)
Four hundred years before the invasion of the Pyrosi, the Silvic jungle and forest housed a collection of various disorganized tribes. The majority of these tribes were simple hunter-gatherers, a way of life the ancient elves of the Silvic had stuck to since time immemorial. One tribe, known as the tribe of Silva, developed a way of harnessing the forest for their own benefit, combining the uses of alchemy, herbomancy, and horticulture to create massive yields of various flora and greenery. Hailing their success to a god known as Stratalus, and through shrewd diplomacy and negotiation, the Silva tribe united the tribes of the Silvic forest. By the Great Tree lies an obelisk detailing each of the leaders of the ancient tribes in ancient Silvic, the coronation of the first Silvic king, and the formation of a kingdom of “Silvadomus”.   First Contact with the Pyrosi (~615 BC)
For several centuries the Kingdom of Silvadomus had been developing technologically, inventing various devices such as early Asero gas and Asero armor, as well as taming the Silvic elk for uses of transportation. The kingdom had grown to the highest point it would be in its history, its capital replete with riches and its people wealthy and well-fed. This ray of wealth attracted the ever-growing and expanding Republic of Pyros, which extended an offer of meeting with the Silvic king. After a meeting with the Silvic king and the Pyrosian emperor, the two nations agreed to a trade deal, thus establishing a great trade route across the plains of Ludwag. Pyrosi culture and influence was exchanged with Silvic culture and influence, and the kingdom flourished from the influx of trade coming in from separate areas of the continent. Little did the kingdom know, however, that the Pyrosi were slowly collecting information on the Silvic, and how best to infiltrate their forest and defeat them.   The Pyrosi Treachery (~515 BC)
In the midsummer of Northern Ludwag, news broke to the Silvic people. The king had been murdered in his chambers, with a gilded Pyrosi knife planted in his chest. The heir of the kingdom would succeed to the throne and wage war on Pyros, vowing revenge for his father’s death. Despite the enthusiasm and zeal of the Silvic military under this heir, they were simply no match for the focused effort of the Pyrosian legions. The Pyrosi had studied the forest of the Silvic for centuries, knew how to penetrate it, and counter their military. In a series of decisive battles the Silvic were brought to heel, the heir slain in battle and his son installed as a puppet ruler.   Pyrosi Rule The Pyrosi Exploitation (~505 BC - 50 BC)
After establishing the former kingdom of Silvadomus as a city-state, the Pyrosi were quick to exploit the resources of the Silvic. The city of Silvadomus was put to work as the main source of food production in the empire. High taxes and tithes sprout unrest and constant rebellion, though this would be put down consistently by the Pyrosi occupation.   Under the heel of Pyrosi rule, Silvic scholars, botanists and mages were forced into works in other provinces of Pyros, leaving the Silvic to technologically and agriculturally stagnate. Without the oversight of these experts, the centuries of over-reaping would cause the soil to become infertile, leading to widespread famine within the Silvic. The lack of a traditional means of combating the empire forced the starving Silvic monarchy to begin plotting against the Pyrosi state in secret.   The Arcus (50 BC)
The Silvic came across knowledge of the Arcus after the Silvawyn family had private meetings with the upper echelon of the Meridians, funding the project with what remainder of wealth they had as a last-ditch effort of freedom. Silvic scholars pledging themselves in secret to the Arcus project perished in the aftermath of the Arcus, leaving the Silvic involvement in the project a closely-guarded secret amongst the royal family.   Isolationist Rule Post-Pyrosi Silvadomus (0 AC - 600 AC)
Once the entire central government of Pyros had been struck down by a blast from the Arcus, the Silvic quickly went into gear to reform their military and defend against Pyrosi remnants and barbarians. The barbarians moved into the forest down from the mountains into the Southern Spring, to plunder what riches were available. Slow to response, the barbarians attacked and razed the Forgotten Village, though were stopped from advancing near the Perdere Pools. A costly victory was won at Perdere, which allowed the Silvic to advance and push the raiders out of the forest. Pyrosi remnants in particular used the coast of the Silvic to escape to Aridam, where they would assist Aridian-Tescali invasion,   From here the Silvic continued to fight and solidify its borders, preventing it from sharing the same fate as many other Pyrosian remnants and states. In the year 89 AC, the Meridians were almost totally massacred by a conquest from an Aridian and Tescan alliance. As thanks for the Arcus project, the Silvic family accepted Meridian refugees with open arms into their society. The massacre of the Meridian race by the Aridian and Tescan alliance caused the Silvic to despise the nation of Aridam and the Tescali, seeing them as traitors of the elven people. From the alliance to the chaos of post-Pyrosi collapse Northern Ludwag, the Silvic closed their borders and went isolationist.   Vanishing of the Gods (600 AC)
The agriculture of Silvadomus had recovered to a point of stability, and barbarian invasions had focused more westwards of Ludwag after repeated defeats near the Southern Spring. One fateful day, however, the influence of Stratalus completely disappeared, with crops suffering drastically from the loss of His magic. Unrest began to spread as the generations of belief brought from Stratalite worship crumbled under the Silvic monarchy and Sacrament, and famine spread once more amongst the population. One day a prophet made his way into the city trailed by an entourage of worshippers, proclaiming himself a “Spirit”. Alongside him and his followers, they would perform many works of magic, restoring the Silvic to heights unforeseen in centuries, being heralded as a hero to the Silvic people.   Revolt sparked, and under the leadership of this “Spirit”, the Silvic peoples exiled the monarchy and the Sacrament in a bloody coup that would see him take the throne. The Silvawyn family entered exile or hid themselves amongst the people.   Reign of the Eternal King (610 - 1056 AC)
A century into his reign, the Spirit King made himself known to the people of Silvadomus, establishing himself as an eternal ruler. He would continue to supply his magic to agricultural development to the nation, but in return demanded complete and utter unwavering loyalty from the Silvic people. To the Silvic people’s horror, they found themselves under the rule of a tyrant.   During this time the Spirit King used his magic to crush an Aridian-Tescan invasion in 862 AC, as well as several barbarian invasions from 1048 - 1053 AC, with the assistance from veterans within the Silvic military. Trephoenian merchant companies made a few trips to Silvadomus starting from the year 984 AC, bringing Trepheonian alchemy and technology with them, which melded and meshed with Silvic culture.   New Rule The Great Shift (1056 AC)
In 1056 AC the gods returned to Northern Ludwag, and the state was set for Stratalus’ will to return to Silvadomus. Restless in their endless subjugations under the Spirit King, the Silvawyn family gathered many disgruntled Silvic elves to plot against the tyrant. Receiving instruction from Stratalus, the crowned Silvic king ate an apple gifted to him from the god. From the apple he obtained the ability to seal spirit away, brought to him within a vision borne from the fruit.   The Silvic people, led by the king, snuck into the royal palace and planted a gilded knife given by Stratalus into the Spirit King’s chest, sealing him forever. The Spirit King’s magic was then released back into the forest, instantly refurbishing the crops to the point they were during the Establishment of Silvadomus. The Silvic king at the time took the throne, and the kingdom became a kingdom once more.   Prosperity (1056 - 1140 AC)
Silvadomus flourished under the new rule, with the remnants loyal to the Spirit King being sealed and imprisoned beneath the palace’s catacombs, keeping the forest and the Silvic’s crops alive and flourishing with their vitor. For nearly a century the Silvic lived in peace, until the Leviathan came.   Current Rule The Leviathan (1411 - 2341 AC)
Without warning, the Leviathan destroyed the kingdom in one fell swoop, releasing the spirits into the jungle. The spirits would flee into the forest, imbuing the biome with every last bit of vitor they could muster, overgrowing the forest into the Silvic jungle. Seal holders were able to capture one piece of all seven major spirits, with the remainder able to run rampant.   The rest of the spirits, alongside Vitos and Aura, poured their vitor into the forest north of Silvadomus and forced it to overgrow. The area of forest the spirits inhabited served as the centre of the jungle, and from there is where the source of overgrowth was. With the pieces of spirit the Seal holders had captured, seven weapons were forged, each representing one of the spirits. Without these final pieces, the spirits were not able to return to their full power.   A constant vying for control over these seven weapons was committed - by holding the weapons as hostages, and continually threatening to destroy them and refuse the spirits of wholly uniting, and uneasy peace was forged between the Silvic and the spirits in the jungle. Over centuries, four of the seven Silvic weapons have been lost and are no longer in possession of the Silvic; only Sol Ferrum, Antigryde, and Lux Inclina are still maintained by the Silvawyn.   Without their last pieces, the spirits have run into a dormant state, with the jungle ceasing to grow until they can come back to their full strength. Beasts of abnormal and horrific proportions emerge from the jungle and combat the Silvic, but to little avail - the Silvic Rangers have become specialised in eradicating the monstrosities of the jungle.   For many centuries onwards the Silvic hunted and fought against the monstrosities in the forest, culling their numbers and preventing the encroaching of spirit magic. This alongside rebuilding their city, re-establishing contact and trade with outside nations, and overall placing the kingdom back 0n its feet. The Leviathan would ensure the kingdom wouldn’t reach the height it was ever again, though during this time a threat arose in the north.   The Corruption
For months the Corruption and the Order of Antem had fought past the Great Wall, with the Corruption unable to encroach on Silvic lands. However, an opening had occurred after a battle near the west of the wall, allowing Corruption forces to pour through and assail the Great Tree. A series of skirmishes occured, though it became quickly apparent the Silvic military was no match for the warped Corruption beasts and runecasting magic, and thus suffered a great amount of casualties alongside the Order of Antem. While the Corrupted forces were pushed out of the Great Tree mainly with the help of the Order of Antem, which were trained and equipped to fight them, the skirmishes left the Silvic military hampered.   The day the wall fell, the Corruption encroached on the Great Tree once again. Unable to muster up a competent defense against the Corruption, the Silvic military had to rely on the intervention of Antem and the Aridians, which successfully pushed the Corruption away from the tree. Soon after the Corruptor left Northern Ludwag, Corrupted magics were snatched away from Corrupted beasts and Corruption runes fell inert.   The Spirit Cult
Despite this, a spirit known as Xevod brought a few spirits back from death, and formed a cult which rivalled the kingdom for months on end. One spirit was successfully sealed, though eventually Xevod himself left into a dimension crafted from spirit magic, taking the majority of spirit power with him. Some spirits remained on Azura, while the rest entered through the portal to rule their own world under Xevod.   Present-Day Silvadomus
Present-day Silvadomus is relatively peaceful, though expeditions into the swamps have been made to combat the new virus that sprouted from the monolith event. The military has been slowly rebuilding itself, though its isolationism has been broken from its modern-day interactions with other nations. It remains to be seen where the kingdom will go with its king.
