The Delitan Faith (del-i-tan)
the word "Delitan" is old munren for "Unknown." These are the people who don't believe it possible for a single being to make everything that exists, or will exist. It just simply cannot be. They do not know what to believe, nor do they know how to find out. They believe in something more than Deos. The most common belief among followers of this religion is that Deos, Horoth, and Arotha exist, and are indeed divine beings, but they believe they are not the only beings. They refer to ancient teachings from the Old World, reference of Deos saying how he made everything, and how he said he was not alone. Many assume he was saying how after he made everything, he was no longer lonely. Followers of the Delitan faith believe Deos was saying how he did not make everything alone. This religion is all but banned in nations like Brimbaria, and Midor. It is banned, and prosecuted in the draconic nations. In Heodar, and the Halfling North, it is allowed, but discouraged.
The most devoted followers of this faith spend their days looking to discover the other divine beings that assisted Deos in making the universe. There are no templars, or prophets of this religion. Many use this as proof that it is a false belief, but those who have grown strong roots in this faith say that is simply because they havn't found the divine beings in which they believe.
Mythology & Lore
WHile they don't know who, followers of this faith are adimant in the belief that both worlds, the Old World, and Eternity, weren't made by just Deos, but rather a council of beings. They believe that something happened that caused the rest of this council of beings to be shun, or outcast by Deos, and they now reside in obscurity. The most devout followers search endlessly for these "gods" and wish to obtain their divine power.
Divine Origins
The Delitan Faith came to be shortly after the exodus from the Old World. The newly formed governments all started preaching how Deos had made Eternity to be a safe haven for those few good people remaining. Some people didn't believe it possible for a single being, no matter how powerful, to be able to create a world by themselves, and much less fill that world with living beings. Templars of Deos proved Deos' existence, but followers of the Delitan faith believed there to be more. They began their search, and would preach about this new belief. The draconic nations, simply didn't tolerate this, and were quick to make the following of these "lies" illegal.
Cosmological Views
They believe that both worlds were made by a council of beings, instead of Deos alone. Deos may have been the leader of this council, but they believe he was not alone.
Tenets of Faith
One must promise never to stop searching for the answer to this question. "Who else made these worlds?"
Ethics
In the end, their sense of right and wrong is no different from the common religion, or its draconic sect. They operate under the same grand rule, being, "If you would not wish, or inflict it upon yourself, do not wish, or inflict it upon others."
Worship
In the end, so long as a follower is searching for the answer, it counts as worship.
Granted Divine Powers
There are no templars, or prophets of this religion, because they have yet to find the gods that they say aided Deos, or pledge their allegence to them.
Political Influence & Intrigue
It is banned in both draconic nations, and is ill advised in Heodar, Brimbaria, and Midor. The Halfling North has accepted followers of this belief no different than followers of the Common religion.
