Colombier, Quebec, Canada

Purpose / Function

This was one of three different United Nations experimentation labs where different tests were done on humans to try and create the strongest, fastest, and wisest humans. The ultimate goal is to create these "superhumans" and subsequent generations of humans who can survive any difficulty ahead of them.

Architecture

There are only two floors at the Whistler Laboratory. The first floor holds a front office for passersby to enter and potentially use the restroom. Behind this room is the actual lab. There are a couple of rooms with beds and tables for...live experimentation. Throughout the rest of the open room are tables and cabinets full of computers, vials, chemicals, microscopes, and more. Most notably is the large gridwork globe in the center of the room that is rested on a mini pool of water.   The second floor is more of a basement. It holds the...rooms that those who are being experimented on stay. It has long white halls with equally colorless rooms. They only contain a bed, a closet, a bookshelf, and a bathroom.

History

When the building was first made, 30 humans were selected to enter a new test. Those that were selected varied: they had nothing to do, they needed money, or they just fell into it. Over the next few years, the humans changed and evolved, but many didn't survive that long. Nine years previous from where the story starts, the 17 that were still alive at the start of the apocalypse overthrew those that were in charge of the laboratory, taking advantage of the chaos. The building remained abandoned for two months until Stefan Trevisan locked himself within it, writing madly all over the walls. Atlas soon visited the building, determined to find out what was going on. After they completed their journey, the building remains abandoned.
