Personal history
Tropos was born and raised in the city of Neverwinter, along with his brother Darocus. His parents were scholars, and named him and his brother common names from other cultures, in a hope they would grow to possess a lust for knowledge. Growing up Tropos was a very curious and impulsive child. This often led to him getting into a lot of trouble with both his teachers and peers alike.
Tropos had a love of learning, and did everything in his power to ensure he always learned something each and every day. This passion allowed him to enter the academy of Neverwinter at the age of 16, just like his older brother, much to his parents' delights. There he found a new crowd he could live with, others with similar passions as he.
At the college, Tropos learned the art of combat, particularly excelling with the use of a longsword. It was at the college where he found his love of magic, from that point, it was incredibly common to see Tropos experimenting with magic in his free time. While Tropos excelled academically, he often got into trouble asking too many questions, fidgeting, or disrupting the peace.
His life changed when Tropos, in an attempt to create his own spell, started a large fire in one of the libraries. A fire that was incredibly difficult to put out, even with the academy's best wizards. After this, he was kicked out of the academy, a combination of the incident, and his general unruly behavior.
From this point in his life, he was lost. His parents thought he had wasted a golden opportunity of his life and refused to let him back home. With little pocket money, Tropos decided to become an adventurer.
Upon seeing a flyer in a tavern, he decided to join a small crew in their expedition to a nearby island. It was rumored the island was infested with skeletons, and Tropos felt this would be just the adventure he needed in his life. Unfortunately, upon landing on the island, he and his crew mates were ambushed by far more skeletons than anticipated. Tropos was luckily able to escape deeper into the island and lose his pursuers. Soon, he heard the sound of fire, investigating further, he found a campsite. Upon seeing a skeleton stealthily approach a Grung, Tropos warned his newfound acquaintances about their would be assailant. It was from that moment Tropos' life would change forever.
Education
Tropos was a scholar at the Academy of Neverwinter for 6 years. It was there he learned his two trademark abilities: combat and magic. Tropos excelled at both and was considered a prodigy by many of his professors. Tropos also developed a love of geography and linguistics while there, and became fluent in many languages, and well versed in the surrounding geography at his time in the academy.
Failures & Embarrassments
Tropos got kicked out of the academy of Neverwinter after setting fire to a library. This he feels is his greatest failure. He hates himself for wasting that once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from the best wizards, fighters, and scholars of the world.
Intellectual Characteristics
He is immensely curious, and loves to learn. After a long hard day of work, he can often be found next to a fire in a comfy chair reading a book.
Morality & Philosophy
Tropos places no value in the wealthy or well-manored. In his view, money or manners can't help a person in a truly dangerous situation. To him, knowledge is the source of all power. He is a firm believer that everyone should live their own life to the best of his' or her's abilities. He is a vehement opponent of slavery.
