The Great Halls of Vena

Though known by many of the more ancient texts as "Umolethka", The Great Halls of Vena have stood for countless centuries, though the exact date it was constructed was unknown. The above-ground entrance stands about 100 feet tall and 50 feet wide over the dunes of sand, the massive doors attached to the upper structure are carved from grey-black stone. The likeness of two Monoliths are carved on either side of the towering doors in memory of the actual Monoliths that once stood guard there. The stone doors themselves split into smaller and smaller sizes as they go down, allowing entry for beings of every size. Past the layered doors is a wide stairwell going underground where the actual halls begin. The Halls of Vena are a massive underground museum of sorts, depicting all the known gods of every religion and their children, carved as massive statues along the sides of the stone hallways. Also here are important relics, items of great historical importance, famous pieces of art, gargantuan tapestries depicting historical events, and monuments to important people and leaders throughout history.   Also part of Umolethka is Latani's Grand Library, which holds a copy of every single document, book, scroll and story ever written in Latani's history, the library was constructed by the demigod Marna, who watches over the Great Halls of Vena to this day. This library is almost 50 meters wide and 100 meters tall, the librarian and caretaker of Latani's Grand Library is one of the last remaining Monoliths named Lima, who is tall enough to reach the tallest and oldest shelves. with the help of their massive ladder of course.

Purpose / Function

Historical museum made to stand the test of time, protect knowledge and commemorate the past.

Architecture

Every part of the Great Halls of Vena are intricately carved from grey stone. Designs in the carvings date back to the Age of Faith, which was when Umolethka was supposedly built. This grey stone was said to have been taken from the peaks of the High Mountains, moved across kilometers of land by the Monoliths to be placed as the foundations of the massive structure.

Defenses

The Watcher Knights are a greatly religious sect of Skol refugees who migrated from Letinel to escape the disaster that befell the continent. They made pilgrimage across Latani to spread their religion of the Way of the Pearl Eye, before settling down as guards in the Great Halls of Vena, apparently by direction of their deity Iris. The Watcher Knights number 24 in total and are calculating fighters who guard the integrity of the halls from trespassers, saboteurs and anyone else not permitted within the halls. Unlike the rest of their Skol brethren, the faction of the Watcher Knights were never one for conquest or domination, instead their goal was to spread their religion across Latani. Afterward, they stayed to defend the halls.   Another guard of the Halls of Vena is the demigod Marna, the oldest of her kind. Umolethka was Marna's passion project back in the Age of Faith and she used the extent of her powers as well as the help from the Monoliths and her devoted followers to build its foundations within the very earth. After Marna survived the Demigod Massacre, she hid herself back within the Halls of Vena, serving as its guide and protector.

Tourism

Many scholars, travelers and historians make the traverse across the Vena Desert in order to reach Umolethka to explore and marvel at its breath-taking halls. However, the hall's guardians of Marna and the Watcher Knights only allow a select few individuals to ever enter, although the parameters for who is chosen to be let in is unknown. Because of this the inside of the halls are usually very empty and quiet despite the large amount of travelers who come to the halls to try and pass judgement to enter.
