Second Empire of Lanyon
After the First Empire ended, the Second Empire rose. Made up of six Kingdoms - the Kingdom of Rivers (humans), Kingdom of Hills (halflings), Kingdom of Mountains (dwarves), Kingdom of Forests (elves), Kingdom of the Steppes (orcs), Kingdom of Marshes (gnomes). An Emperor was elected by the Kings and Queens from among themselves, traditionally for life. Ended with the War of Kings when humans, elves and dwarves fought the last orc Emperor.
The Kingdoms of Rivers, Mountains and Forests still exist. The Kingdom of Marshes is now the Lost Lands and gnomes are displaced nomads. Halflings now live among the other races, the Kingdom of Hills having disbanded after the last halfling king died, and Orcs are a mostly unorganized horde.
Disbandment
Ended with the War of Kings. Succeeded by the Kingdoms of Rivers, Forests and Mountains, the orcish horde, and many individual halfling settlements, gnome travelling group and a few independent city-states.
