The Five Wears

For Bakaneer fashion is a private matter. A person's fashion sense is the window to their thoughts and to be dressed differently in public is similar to be naked. Fashion is only followed inside a private home to close friends and family. Houses have front rooms with head height windows where visitors can talk to inhabitants without violating their privacy. There are five sets of varied practical clothes which everyone on Bakaneer will wear a set of.
The five sets are:

Battle-wear

These are the clothes that the people of Bakanese wear into battle. It has plates of wood sewn into the sleeves. The breastplate is made of layers of folded linen, primarily to catch arrows and other ranged weapons.

Festival-wear

Brightly coloured loose fitting clothing, since it is dyed by local materials it is normally blue. It is worn for special events and festival days.

Field-wear

This is the clothing that the Bakan wear when they are working the fields. It has large boots to protect from mud and protective gloves. It comes with a wide brimmed hat.

Travel-wear

The least commonly used of the Five Wears. It is designed for easy travel and has a hooded jacket with a skirt-like base that can be used as a sleeping bag.

Stealth-wear

It is used for hunting or spying. To help with this, tt has a camo patterns in dark green and close fitting clothing. There are tight pockets too to allow items to be carried without making sound while moving.

Sea-wear

A controversial topic as it isn't one of the original wears. It is Designed to be worn at sea it is waterproof. It comes with a wide brimmed hat, long boots and a large outer rainproof coat with an inner lining of fleece. It has padded shoulders allowing the wearer to carry packs easily.The Bakanese are excellent swimmers so the clothes can be taken off easily. It also lets them change into battle gear easily.
