The Deep Death

Rings of large black spikes, cats that glow only when they get close. A priesthood telling warnings of the cats and the place. The Deep Death is a place spoken of in whispers.

Geography

There are spikes that range from a few feet high to three times as large as a man. These spikes get larger and more organised into rings towards the centre of the Deep Death. The smallest spikes can be found over 10 km from the centre of the ring. The land itself is similar to the burn, with very little grass but less harsh sun.

Fauna & Flora

There seems to be a breed of cats that can only be found in this area. They are a sleek build with pure white fur. The strangest thing about them is that they will glow when near the ring of black spikes in this area. Tests where people have taken the cats away have shown them glowing in strange, deadened places around Lanmet.
Herd animals like zebu, elephants and ostriches live in the area, with chickens being kept by the heretics. Like in Montihume, cheetahs are often used as pets. Outside the ring hyenas prey on the wounded and dead.

Natural Resources

The large iron spikes are a source of metal but most of the time removing them is frowned upon by the Heretics. Black smokey quartz is found in the area and arable land is incredibly rare.
