The Gods of Alwynter

Common Gods of Alwynter:   Gruthmang, elven god of conquest, war and terror in Alwynther Domains: War, Destruction Iconography: Bow armed with a sword in place of a arrow Depiction: Gruthman is often depicted as a tall and elderly elven man in a vest of furs colored in reds, browns and grays.   Bastman, dwarven god in Alwynter Domains: Artifice, Honor Iconography: A tombstone with a hammer in the center Depiction: Bastman is often depicted as a dwarven woman of low stature, with warpaint across her eyes. She is often represented wielding warhammer and a well-forged set of plate armor.   Nikolyptus, elven god of the hunt in Alwynther Domains: Competition, Glory, Luck Iconography: A stag's head with empty eyes Depiction: Depicted as a tall elven man dressed in green-hued silks, long flowing blonde hair and wielding a golden bow. By some, he is considered a duality or brother of Gruthmang.   Naytuh Higus, dwarven god of fear and domination in Alwynter. Domains: Strength, Void Iconography: A circle around a ruby Depiction: Naytuh Higus, as depicted by his followers, is considered as a dwarven man of a greyish hue skin, with a peasant's cloth. However, he has glowing eyes that are often depicted by way of rubies.   FIAYA, GOD OF FLAME AND IS LITERALLY JUST FIRE. Also known as the Guiding Fire. Domains: Fire, Arson Iconography: Fire Depiction: Fiaya is rarely depicted, as much as 'summoned' by it's followers. It is known well for it's twisting and 'beatiful' form.   Ruka, god of agriculture Domains: Earth, Plant Iconography: A single grass of wheat colored in a vivid yellow Depiction: Often seen as a lady of brown hair dressed in a brown and green dress with a single grass of wheat above her left ear.   Liligoth, god of death and afterlife Domains: Death, Law Iconography: A scale with two skulls upon it Depiction: Liligoth is often depicted as the sister of Ruka. Physically, she is depicted in a black and violet toga with hair inbetween black and violet. The hair is depicted differently between sects, sometimes long and flowing and other times as braided into elegant, but shorter, hairstyles. Despite her connection with death, she is mostly considered fair both in appearence and in judgement.   The Cold Crusade, divining the expansion of Alwynter to fullfillment in the spirit world Domains: Ice, Law, Repose Iconography: The Red Cross Depiction: The Cold Crusade is considered less a physical god by most Cold Crusaders, and more of a ideal or holy goal. Some however, consider the Cold Crusade to be represented physically in the form of a hulking, undead one-eyed creature as old as the world itself.   The Wilders, gods of varying kinds that relate to aspects of nature. Mainly employed by the Dwarven colonies Domains: Plant, Community Iconography: A Heart of Moss Depiction: The Wilders is less a single god, and moreso millions of smaller gods. That is to say, The Wilders is the faith that nature has several minor spirits that live in everything around us, and they may carry their favor back to you if you should treat them with care. A more wellknown Wilder spirit, known as Gyathora, has however been known to manifest in the form of a grove of thorns.   Masteonic Spirits/The Masteons, a sort of ancestor worship relating to the forerunners that crafted the initial Alwynter confederacy. Particularily the forerunner called Ramvurp. Despite this, some who have done great deeds for the Confederacy have been integrated into their number. Other Masteons of note are: Dorgin (Masteon of Charm) and Mordchan (Masteon of Duty). Domains: Memory, Legend Iconography: The sillhuette of a mausoleum Depiction: Few of the Masteons are properly depicted in other ways than they were in life. The closest one to being depicted as anything other than mortal aside from in worship or mention is Ramvurp. Ramvurp has been known to be depicted as a hunchbacked, hairy man.   The Elders, important in mainstream dwarven religion across the Dwarven Tsardom. Domains: Memory, Earth Iconography: Incense burning over a altar Depiction: The Elders is the faith that the dearly departed are still active in the world. While gods may or may not be real or relevant, they recognize the departed as remaining connected to the world. Some rituals in regards to honoring the Elders may be comparable to worship, however.   The Keepers of Alwynter are revered across many non-religious regions across Alwynter.     The Dead Gods: (The Gods of the Dead Strait)   Altez Hurian, Dead Strait god of nature, forests and later, death Domains: Plants, Death Iconography: A branch growing out of a skull Depiction: Before the Dead Strait became what it is today, Altez Hurian was known to be a smiling man with a long beard who wandered the woods of the Strait, and often came on visits. He was well known for wearing long, brown robes and donning a wide-brimmed hat. After death became a feature of the Strait, he was known to be dressed similarily, but his skin wide with scars and wounds that exposed not flesh, but pure bone. His grin is associated with the abominations that now stalk the forests that he once made a safe refuge for travelers.   Murin Samez, Dead Strait god of blood, power and undeath Domains: War/Blood, Strength and Death/Undead Iconography: A branch growing out of a skull Depiction: Once upon a time, Murin Samez was but a common god for those who loved brute force. A god of power. A man's god. With a love for arm wrestling. Well, until the war came. He was known to love that as well, meeting it with a bare chest as he and his manly hordes descended upon the enemy. But as his men died, tales went that the god started carving long scars across his body, stretching from the edge of his fingers down to his torso. From his forehead to his chin. And soon, he came to be a god of blood as well. He beconed his very blood to bring back life to the fallen men, tales told, and before long... It did.     The Almachi Gods: (The Ascended Palanthirs)   Palanthir Urgo, Almachi god/palanthir Domains: Daemon (Chaos), Hubris Iconography: Bow armed with a sword in place of a arrow Depiction: Few have seen Palanthir Urgo manifest in any manner of physical form. Rather, Urgo manifests in sound. In a whispered voice, or the tunes of a lute. At times, the raspyness of the Palanthir form gives way for a serene voice to sing along to the lute's tune.     The Orcish Gods:   Keko, orcish god of comedy and entertainment Domains: Trickery, Cooperation Iconography: A painted orc head, with a wide smile Depiction: Keko, according to legends, was once a orcish entertainer. His acts spread joy all across the land. In time, however, Keko was put to death after being suspected of theft by authorities. He sometimes comes back to the world of the physical, according to rumors, dressed up in a jester's costume of red and yellow. He even grins with joy to this day.
