Conduit

A conduit is a living embodiment of that magical school, the perfect exemplification of the power each part may possess. Whatever their other abilities and lifespans may be, once chosen by Mystra they are gifted near limitless potential in their school of magic and cannot die from natural causes. Conduits have lives on Elan for millennia, generally choosing solitary lives or that of a hermit, learning early on that the people around them become superstitious and worrisome when they learn of their true nature.
To preserve the natural order of the weave, all Conduits must be chosen at once. Should one conduit be slain, then all others will begin to feel the pull of death. A nagging begins in their mind, a gentle pull towards violence or depression, their immortality can only exist while all eight survive and upon the death of a single conduit, the immortality of each is removed and each one may live out the remainder of their mortal life. It is believed this was granted as a kindness from Mystra herself but weather this is true or not is unknown.

Basic Information

Anatomy

There is no species or race that is preferred by Mystra, she is neutral in such things and demands only that her conduits be sentient and intelligent. Having a magical affinity nor predilection is not required by her and all natural talents known to those chosen are kept.

Biological Cycle

A conduits life is theirs to do with as they choose but they are gifted with the innate knowledge that they are immortal to natural causes until they day one of them may fall, at this point they have the rest of their natural life to get their affairs in order before their magic is taken in the afterlife and planted once more into the next chosen.
