Personal correspondence to Brother Viscati, Cavalier of the Holy Order of the Radiant Flame

Brother Viscati,   I must, with a heavy heart, deny your request to embark upon your crusade. The Holy Father of our order has decreed that the forces of the Argent Fist must not be used to satisfy the personal whims of members of the militant orders, no matter their rank or station.   While I agree that your proposed strategy to assault and destroy the Watcher den near Saltsbourg carries with it a high probability of success, our Holy Father believes that to allow you to engage in this action would set a dangerous precedent to your fellow knights; if we were to allow one knight to call his brothers to arms to fulfill a quest for vengeance, then it would encourage others to make similar pleas.   I am deeply sorry for the loss of your family, and I mourn the tragic destruction of their village, but I cannot, in good faith, allow the precious few knights under my command to follow you to such a remote and strategically insignificant location when there are larger, more pressing threats nearby.   I must ask that you heed my wishes in this, brother. Do not attempt to venture out into the Dark alone. You are as precious to me as any other knight in this chapel, and I have no desire to see you rush headlong to your doom.   Yours in the hope of Dawn, Lord Abbot Michen
