2024.02.28 - Chapter 1 - Session 5

General Summary

After a fierce fight with the Dark Priest and the cultists, you took a moment to catch your breath. You talked to the survivor that you had save and he told you that indeed, he had been kidnapped while travelling. He told you that many other merchants and travellers seemed to have suffered the same fate, and that they were being used to fuel the portal. He told you that they were using the portal to summon demons and bring them to this world. He also told you about the Collector Demon patrolling the area, where the corpses of most of the merchants and prisoners were. After Betty scouting the area, you found a Huge Demon outside carrying a lot of corpses inside it. Without any hesitation, you actually came up with a plan this time, and decided to ambush the Creature and the Cultists with a swift attack. With Betty snipping one of the cultists and Davyeras Golem getting their attention, the trap was set and Davyeras threw a Fireball killing all the remaining Cultists in one shot, leaving just the brute and the Demon alive. Orgc moved forward and tried to dispatch the Brute Cultist with the puniest Smites ever seen. The demon went through a portal, disappearing from all your sights, all to appear again right in front of Davyeras, Dr. Bone and Torgal. It grappled Davyeras, and absorbing her soul, it threw away her lifeless body, ready to face the rest of the party. After seeing the dead body of their companion, your whole party gathered all the strength that they had left, and attacked with all their might. Dr. Bone landed a critical strike on the demon, while the rest of the party attacked from all fronts, except Orgc, too busy dealing with Davyeras rampaging golem.  With a mighty blow, Brad put an end to the Demon, freeing Davyeras soul going back to her body. Betty, tried to quickly steal the crown that Davyeras was wearing and fell in the floor while she was unconscious, but as soon as Davyeras noticed, she attacked her with a Thunderwave, not letting her taking it. As the fight ended, you decided to travel back quickly to Port Aboll to lick your wounds and recover.  On your way back, you run into a group of peasants that were on their way to Port Aboll. They told you that there were looking for help, refuge or asylum as their villages and areas had been attacked by an army of Goblins. The survivors were on their way to Cordoba or Port Aboll, trying to escape the horrors they had seen. Only a rumour, but one of the survivors mentioned that he heard someone say that the Goblin army was lead by a dragon...  Davyeras and Orgc gave the group 50 gold and 5 rations of food respectively.  You made it to Port Aboll safely and went to the Inn to have a well deserved rest.
