Saint Aelephan

A missionary priest of The One Faith who founded several churches within the Aetheria Dominion while it was still a rudimentary religion, before being persecuted and ultimately martyred. Alephan is responsible for the One Faith gaining acceptance among many, helping it to depose the worship of pagan gods. He was tortured extensively without ever crying out in pain, refusing to recant his faith even under extreme and lengthy torture. He forgave his persecutors even as he was being put to the sword.

Beliefs:

• It is good to mortify the flesh. As The Prophet suffered, so too did Alephan, as an offering to the Allfather.

• Suffering in this life results in glory in the next.

• Resist temptation and accept self-denial rather than indulgence to be rewarded in the Afterlife.
