Demographics

Wretinridge is an extremely humanocentric city (demographically >70% human.) However, compared to other cities of the world, it does seem somewhat cosmopolitan. With a population approaching 520,000 souls, it is one of the most populous cities in Kryllos. The denizens are 11% dwarven (reflecting its mining history.) Slyphs make up 8%. Midfolk and Ogre-blooded each comprise roughly 4% of the populace. The remaining 3% include Goblins, Khalruka, and even creatures such as Minotaurs or Orcs (which would be considered monsters elsewhere in the Republic.) It should be noted, though, such creatures are by far the exception and can face daily prejudice, discrimination, and even hostility from other residents. These estimates account only for individuals living above ground who are legally recognized in the city (i.e. Morlocks aren't in the population breakdown because they primarily reside in the Undercity.)

The mix of peoples and species from around the world make Wretinridge an exciting, and often confusing, place. On any given street, a traveler is likely to hear several different languages and dialects spoken, hear music and smell the aromas cuisines from many cultures originating many thousands of leagues away. The names of many humans have become so jumbled they no longer offer a clue to a persona's original heritage, lineage, or land of origin.

It is difficult to find a single label for Wretinridge. Depending on who you talk to, the city is either a festering nest of liars and thieves or the last bastion of nobility in the realms. As elsewhere, The One Faith holds considerable power, both spiritual and secular. Wretinridge is governed by a Reeve representing the Skyfront Republic
