History

The Moradi culture was birthed from the remains of the Daahken Dresnid Empire's spectacular collapse. The Acstan Khanate, a remnant of the Daahkens, quickly swept through to Barakon's northern coastlines – a first for the landlocked Dresnids – and found itself at the bustling crossroads of cultures, a legacy of the once-glorious Morosian Empire. Here, in this melting pot of civilizations, the Moradi identity was forged, not just out of spite of nonconformity but as a bold step towards a new future. The culture retains its name from the Acstan Khanate's newly embraced language known as Moradi, a vibrant blend that drew from the linguistic heritage of the ancient Dresnid, the melodious Morosian, and the articulate Aetian tongues.   This cultural metamorphosis, initially a masterstroke by the Dresnid rulers to unify their diverse subjects, had an unforeseen twist. The once-feared Dresnid influence began to wane, and with it, the chains of subjugation loosened. The Moradi people, once subdued, now burned with a fervent desire for independence. They saw themselves not just as survivors, but as architects of their destiny, eager to carve out a new nation. To be Moradi became a symbol of hope and rebellion, a clarion call to those dreaming of a new dawn and a distinct national identity.

Traditions

The Moradi, a people hailing from diverse origins, have a complexity of rich traditions. In their world, each custom tells a story, reflecting the myriad backgrounds from which they come. The grand festivals and feasts, reminiscent of the luxurious Morosian celebrations, are central to their way of life. These events are more than just gatherings; they are a symphony of joy and community, where the air dances with the scents of rich cuisine and the sounds of shared laughter.   Contrasting these exuberant festivities is the serene devotion of the Lammetrians and Srians. Their practices, steeped in religious beliefs and conservatism, are like quiet streams flowing through the vibrancy of Moradi culture, offering a reflective depth to the otherwise lively landscape.   In the realm of education, the Moradi distinguish themselves uniquely. Literacy and writing are not just common; they are a celebrated aspect of daily life. In a society where many cultures view the written word as a luxury, the Moradi have made it a cornerstone of their existence. This widespread literacy has turned Moradi society into a haven of knowledge and expression, where ideas and creativity are as free-flowing as the wind.

Fantasy Additions

The Moradi are a thorough mix of the common humanoid races and species, and among the mix is even Balan culture. The culture bears elements from practically all other across Barakon, but Aetian remains the chief common spoken language. The Moradi have been staging various guerilla wars against the Acstan Khanate, who have in recent times begun to expel many citizens under the accusation of treachery.
