Shalsetri, God-Emperor of Irakan

Shalsetri was the first wizard of Kraynor, an elf during the First Era who began his life as a sorcerer. He hated the limits of his natural gifts and spent the better part of his first 400 years of life attempting to systematize magic. He succeeded, and the centuries that followed saw an explosion of the arcane arts among the elves. Shalsetri soon used his power and prestige to usurp the Gilted Throne of the Irakani kingdom of High Elves and soon after instigated the war effort for the "unification" of the continent of Irakan, far to the east of Deus Augustus. After declaring himself emperor of the continent-spanning empire, Shalsetri underwent deification through a means as yet unknown those who live on Deus Augustus. Post-deification, he learned of the other continents of Kraynor and sent a tribe of missionary elves to each of them; to Deus Augustus he sent the Drow, and they are now well established in the dark places of Kraynor. However, in the ages and periods since the first envoy made their trip across the Restless Sea, other kingdoms and tribes have been sent west, and while there are among them worshippers of the other gods of Kraynor, most of them still bring tidings of the God-emperor of Irakan.


Shalsetri currently resides in a massive palace-temple on Irakan. For all his grandiosity and pride, he is not a bad leader, and the continent on which he resides has been mostly prosperous and peaceful during his iron-fisted reign - at least, so say the elves who occasionally venture west to Deus Augustus.


He is, as one might guess based on his origin, a deity responsible for the domains of knowledge, arcana, and order. He is also admired by those who seek power at any cost, and is venerated by scholars, usurpers, plotters, and wizards alike. His priesthood is a cutthroat academia that begrudgingly shares their knowledge with the laity but keeps the most powerful secrets of the arcane for themselves and their wizard-knight adjutants.

Follower Boon - Pride of the First

Followers of Shalsetri gain the Pride of the First trait.
Pride of the First. When you face instant death, Shalsetri shields you. Instead of dying, you are reduced to 1 hp and are in stasis until the beginning of your next turn and you lose this trait. You regain this trait after finishing a long rest. Note that this does not apply to massive damage dealt to you, only effects with specifically an instant death component, like the Disintegrate spell.
