Order of the Roaring Lion
The Order of the Roaring Lion is a knightly order based within the Syfranian Chancellorate. They uphold the laws of the Chancellorate and are used as the primary military/police force within the lands of Syfrany. Known for their fierce fighting prowess and deep sense of duty to their Order and to their Chancellor, Roaring Lions will never turn away from a fight if it is to protect a citizen and would die for their order.
Structure
- Pride Master. The rank of Pride Master is, by far, reserved only to those who have devoted themselves whole-heartedly to the cause of the Roaring Lions. The Pride Masters are the heads of the order, directing their respective halls in what ever manner they see fit.
- Pride Captain. The Pride Captain is specially chosen by the Pride Master to be placed in command of a battalion. They oversee operations within specific districts within each Pride Lands. Anything from policy making and acting as a judge to overseeing preparations for war are the duties of the Captain.
- Pride Sergeant. The Pride Sergeant is in charge of a company within a Pride battalion.
- Pride Corporal. The Pride Corporal is in charge of a platoon within a Pride company.
- Pride Soldier. The Pride Soldier make the bulk of the Roaring Lion Order's members. They carry out any order that is given to them, whether it is guard duty, like that of a city guard or caravan guard, patrol areas within their Pride lands, scouting missions, or the responders to an invasion.
Public Agenda
The Order of the Roaring Lion was built upon the teachings of nobility and honor, and, as such, stay close to those teachings in their deeds, providing protection to the people wherever and whenever needed, such as city guards, caravan guards, or, if involved in a war, soldiers and cavalry.
Assets
The bases of the order are known as Sanctuaries, and each Sanctuary has at least 250,000 gp within their vaults. Being used to providing aid to the government as both a police force and military presence, the Sanctuaries has 800 infantrymen, 400 cavalry, and 300 archers, as well as 4 smiths, 3 fletchers, 4 vendors, 2-3 clerics of law-aligned gods, and 1 innkeeper at minimum per Sanctuary.
History
The Order of the Roaring Lion is a knightly order founded in 171 SA (Silver Age) by a Syfranian, Lord Archibald Rommel, a half-elf knight who was cursed with lion lycanthropy by the mad druid Arconias the Foul. After slaying the fallen druid, Rommel searched long and far for some way to gain control over the curse.
