Kalan Dar

An old tradition started by King Adrakkazi involving a ruler or leader performing some great feat to prove their legitimacy.

History

When the younger brother Khrum desired the throne, he committed to heroic deeds in order to prove himself fit to be a King, after ascending to the throne he was adorned with the new name King Adrakkazi .   Being such a great leader many modeled him, doing what he did. So other kings and leaders began performing great deeds to prove themselves fit. It became tradition for Kings to do this.   During the reign of Dreggi Groklin in The Dwagi Empire he decreed that the tradition of Kalan Dar was only to be called upon if there were major disputes for the throne. His reasoning for doing this is several of the previous Emperors had either died, or spent insane amounts of money to trying to complete their Kalan Dar.   The Kalan Dar fell out of tradition only being used to avoid civil wars, or to settle other disputes.   After the fall of the The Dwagi Empire the Kalan Dar began seeing use again, as Kings needed to prove to their subjects they were worthy of the title, or attempting to prove their worth as Emperor.

Execution

In modern times the tradition of Kalan Dar and when it is performed is based on the Kingdoms laws. One kingdom may have it required by law to complete a Kalan Dar to become King, others may only have a need for it if the vassals vote for it. Some kingdoms even have it outlawed entirely.
