Mythology & Lore

After the shattering of the Primordial Mind when the world was an abyss of endless darkness, there existed only silence and emptiness. In the heart of this void, Auroth, the Winter Wyvern, stirred from her slumber, her majestic form glowing with a frigid light. With each beat of her wings, snowflakes formed, and with each breath, frost spread outward, giving shape to the shapeless expanse. As Auroth moved, her crystalline wings brushed against the void, and from the collision of ice and nothingness, mountains emerged, their peaks glistening with eternal snow. Valleys formed between them, each one becoming a cradle for the pure, untouched snow that Auroth's breath brought forth.
As Auroth continued her celestial dance, shaping Frostholme with the touch of her icy breath, she felt a resonance in the fragments of the shattered Primordial Mind. Celestial spirits began to stir, awakening from the remnants of the cosmic upheaval. Among them emerged Cryxalis, the Sand King, his essence embodying the warmth and vastness of the desert.
Cryxalis, inspired by Auroth's creation, swept his hand across the void, and the arid expanse of the Golden Dunes took form. Towering sand dunes rose under his command, and as his breath whispered through the barren land, oases and mirages sprung forth. The scorching sun hung high in the sky, casting a radiant glow upon the vast desert.
Elion, the Dawnbreaker, arose next, her form radiant with the hues of dawn. Inspired by Auroth's crystalline wings, Elion extended her arms, summoning the first light to pierce the darkness. The Cascade Peaks emerged, bathed in the ethereal glow of the first morning. Valleys filled with blooming flora and fauna unfolded beneath her radiant touch, creating the breathtaking beauty of Dawn's Embrace.
Rattletrap, the Clockwerk Soul, followed suit, his metallic presence resonating with the rhythm of time. With each tick and tock, gears whirred into existence, and mechanisms manifested from his touch.
Lastly, Bradwarden, the Warrunner, emerged, embodying strength and resilience. Auroth's breath bestowed upon him the essence of unyielding endurance. As Bradwarden moved, mountain ranges rose from the earth, and valleys formed into fortified bastions.

Chosen to serve as the direct voice of Auroth, the Winter Wyvern, the High Frostwarden plays a crucial role in guiding the community, preserving the teachings, and maintaining the delicate balance between the elements that the faith upholds. Chillbringers: Chillbringers are senior priests and priestesses within the Temple of the Frostwyrm assisting the High Frostwarden in guiding the community and overseeing the Crystal Frost Sanctuary. They help facilitate worship, educate novices, offer counsel, and mediate conflicts. Collaborating closely with the High Frostwarden, Chillbringers ensure the smooth operation of ceremonies, temple events, and educational programs. Recognized by their frost-inspired robes and Auroth symbols, they play a pivotal role in maintaining unity and upholding the teachings of Auroth within the faith.
Frostguardians: Frostguardians are dedicated individuals within the Temple of the Frostwyrm, entrusted with safeguarding the Crystal Frost Sanctuary and upholding the sanctity of the temple grounds. These traveling preachers play a crucial role in extending Auroth's influence and guiding others towards a harmonious connection with the elements.
Frostweavers' Apprentices: Frostweaver are the next generation of emissaries who will spread the teachings of Auroth. These individuals undergo training within the Crystal Frost Sanctuary, where they learn the principles of the faith, develop communication skills, and prepare to embark on journeys to various parts of Frostholme. Their apprenticeship is a stepping stone toward becoming fully-fledged Frostweavers, ready to share Auroth's wisdom with others. To gain experience they are deployed across Frostholme at various points of their training, an easy asignment when the majority of the region follows the religion.
