The Unity War

Some Cycles after the creation of the world, as civilisations began to form, the Celestial Council were woken by a horrific war waging amongst their creations. Their civilised races had grown larger, but had divided and turned against one another. Lands were fighting against others to show who were more powerful, races were fighting against others to show who were superior and Oaths were fighting against others to show who were more spiritual. It was a chaotic series of battles known as The Unity War (though not a true war as there were no set sides and no 'winner'). Outraged, the Mothers revealed themselves to their people and demand they stopped fighting. The war stopped immediately, but the damage was already done: blood was shed and carnage was ruined. On a day that would be remembered as the Festival of Unity, the Mothers decided that, although the world was to still have free will, the Mothers would have to take certain matters into their own hands in order to balance the living realm out (the Sacred Decree of Unity). They then sent little creatures known as sprites to help balance out the world. Also, Temples no longer became exclusive to its Oathbound, but to anyone who wanted to come in and look at the culture and worship traditions of any Temple and Oath. Since the Unity War, wars between Lands and people still occasionally happened, but ideologies of superior Oaths were wiped out as social taboo, as everyone had seen all of the Goddesses in all their glory, each as magnificent and powerful as the rest.
