Kiraroku : The Dragon Empire

Kiraroku, the Dragon Empire.   Long ago the Nijen (Humanity) lived in the plains and forests of Toyorchi, and then one day the Shen came forcing them to flee to the sea. Eventually they fled the mainland all together traveling to a land shrouded in myth. Many died or crashed on other islands, but a hardy few found the three mythical islands of Kiraroku; Machi, Toja, and Niruka. Though rather than salvation on those islands they found blood and strife.   The Kami of those islands were at war. Two factions of dragons were at war devastating the land, and the Nijen joined one side helping to defeat the other. Those dragons that were defeated were bound deep under the earth, where the sleep to this day their dark dreams of gaining their freedom.   The Nijen built a empire on the isles, taking the mythical name of the islands as their new state: Kiraroku. Now that threatens to break apart. The imperial family is dead, that ancient line dating back to the days of the Dragon Wars murdered by fire. While figureheads controlled by the Kage and Shugo, the title of emperor carries real weight in the eyes of many.   Many also dream of becoming the head of a new imperial dynasty, one that has real power.   War is coming to Kiraroku.
