Destiny Islands
Ah, my homeland.
Here, I was born.
("What a beautiful baby," she breathed out, with a teary smile. "I'll call him..." She looked to the sky, and her eyes shining with realisation. "Sora.")
Here, I found my resolve.
(My eyes landed on the sky. The stars were shining like a my mother's eyes, and they were all swirling aroung the moon. I smiled, amazed. It was... breathtaking.
I wonder if, when I meet my soulmate... I could see this with them. I would like it very much.
And with a smile and a newfound desire, I fell asleep.)
Here, I met my best friend.
("Hey, wake up."
"Mmmmmmmmmmno." A kick. "Agh! Don't hit me!"
"Look," the kicker (Riku, my memory supplied, but right now he was the kicker) looked to my side. I followed his glance and saw an octopus. A very big octopus.
"Well," I started, my face blank, "this is quite a predicament. Now, if you excuse me, I'll go back to sleep." Another kick. "STOP!"
"No."
"Okay." I grunted, getting up and shaking my butt to get off the sand. "I'm Sora, you?"
The kicker gave me a confused look, probably because I didn't remove the octopus. "Riku.")
Here, I became strong.
(I punched the tree. Again. And again. And again. Andagainandagainandagainandagainandagainandagain. Until, suddenly, there was no tree.)
Here, I cried for the first time in my second lifetime.
(I... was terrified. Although it pained me to admit it, I wasn't so confident as I appeared to be. I hugged myself in an attempt to find comfort. It didn't work, and I started to sob uncontrollably.
"U-ugh..." I sniffed. "Why m-me..."
"Sora?" a voice called out, reluctantly. Riku's voice.
Fuck.
I wiped my tears and snot and turned to face him with a smile. If I was going by his expression, it wasn't very convincing.
He walked to me and sat beside me.
"You know..." he trailed off, as if unsure of what to say. I was suprised at his show of vulnerability. Maybe that's how he felt too, seeing me like this. "If you ever need help... I'm here."
I tackled him with a hug and buried my face in the crook of his neck. "Thanks," I whispered gratefully, "I needed that."
He wrapped his arms around me, uncomfortably. "You're welcome.")
Here, I died.
(I smiled softly.
"[Static noise]..." I muttered, looking at that person. "Promise me... You'll be happy." I extended my arm and cupped their hand with my hand. I wiped their tears softly with my finger.
They grabbed my hand with the strength of a thousand men and kissed it. "I love you..." Their voice broke and their whole body shook. "D-don't leave me..." Their grip tightened. "Please..."
I closed my eyes and uttered my last words. "I love you too." And with that, I knew no more.)
