The barren plains which were caused by the splitting of Valella's soul which reformed as the mad goddess Iza, she triggered the operation of the nearby volcanoes. Originally this was a paradise given to her children with the first man Tolio, where her son ruled from the great palace in the city of Falkerstone. Eventually this was introduced to the empire of the Rutherfords, but they only saw it as a training ground for their military and place where criminals flee to, to avoid puishment so it has become an anarchist state which even the fearless avoid.

Geography

This is in the shadow of the Black Mountains and the hills that make up the coastal region of Corhill and was originally a lush forest until the eruption of Mount Tolio which turned it into the Desert wasteland which is present today. There is one river flowing through the area which starts in the black mountains. This is a landlocked region.
There are not many settlements due to the desert conditions and beliefs that the land is cursed. The main settlement is called Greyholt and is the hereditary home of the Powells.

Fauna & Flora

There are few creatures that call this place home. The largest of these are the wolves that come from the mountains. There is also the giant lizards endemic to the area called Iza's Scales. The only other animals are birds, insects, small mammals and livestock.
The Flora consists of small shrubs and succulents. People do grow grape vines in the area and use these grapes to produce a sweet wine. There are a few flowers in the air like red hot pokers, rock roses and daisies.
