The dragon awakens

Eshkira hatched on the top of Mount Sárkán on the 15th of the Month of Blessings, 359. With a mighty roar she let the Sárkány Aiga know another worthy warrior had come into the world to reinforce their clan. In reality it was more of a little screech, but that didn't matter to the dragonborn, every birth was something to rejoice.

As the dragonborn skip the helpless baby fase Eshkira was quickly up and running, racing through the rock formations. Growing up on Mount Sárkán with its protective barrier she quickly learned about nature's strength and her clans connection to it. Like many other clan warriors Eshkira's father left to seek adventure and challenge elsewhere. Unlike in other cultures the Sárkány Aiga regarded this as something to be proud of rather than being left behind, so Eshkira grew up with great admiration for her warrior father and wanted nothing more than to follow in his footsteps.

Due to primarily male warriors often leaving the clan, the female dragonborn stayed behind to do the work. Therefore many dragonborn children were watched over by the elders. This appeared to be highly effective as the elders taught the little ones not only respect and discipline, but passed their vast knowledge unto them in the form of stories and poems.

A change of heart

As Eshkira reached adulthood it was clear she would follow her father and become a brave warrior, but that all took a strange turn when she met Rhogar, a druid in training. Before she met him Eshkira was blind to the ways of the druid. Becoming a skilled warrior was the only option for her, but suddenly a whole new world opened up. As she started to fall in love with Rhogar she came to understand staying in the clan and serving them in another way was also an option. In the end she chose to stay and started her training as a druid. A few years later Rhogar and Eshkira's son Tharun was born. All was good.

Tragedy strikes

In the year 387 Eshkira's world came crashing down. While the Sárkány Aiga were having their two month hibernation, a group of hunters with the help of mages was able to cross the magical barrier that protected Mount Sárkán. They struck when the dragonborn were at their weakest and unable to fight back. Before they could react, the hunters had already retreated and left behind a bloodbath. Eshkira woke up to find her husband and son slaughtered, their blood harvested for unknown purposes.

Despite Eshkira's loyalty to the clan she fairly quickly felt there was nothing binding her to them anymore now that her dearest possessions were taken away from her in such a gruesome manner. Mata'afa Urodaar, the clan's druid leader, commanded Eshkira to stay, because it was unacceptable for a druid to leave the clan behind, especially one still in training. For the first time in her life Eshkira directly disobeyed orders and left the mountain.

Another life

For years Eshkira roamed the land of Aurleen looking for the hunters that took Rhogar and Tharun from her, but every lead had a dead end. Eventually she settled in a small cabin at the edge of Blight Forest, close to Mossvile. In the beginning Eshkira had a difficult time integrating in society. The Sárkány Aiga had a proud and harsh personality, there was not much room for emotions, which often caused Eshkira's personality to clash with the other races who mistook the behaviour as hostile. Eshkira worked hard to adapt, because she felt unable to return to her clan.

After a while things started to brighten up and she was even allowed to continue her druid training with the druids in Mossvile. When the SunFare Festival came to town she was finally confident enough to meet some new people and that's how Eshkira ended up in the Treebark Inn. Little did she know that this was the beginning of a new adventure.
