Khalar

Thousands of years ago, Khalar was a world torn apart by war between beings of such power that the scars they left upon the world are still visible. In the end, however, these beings on both sides departed the mortal plane as a result of the final battle, leaving the mortal races suddenly without their guides, protectors, teachers, slave-drivers and antagonists.   Over the next several millennia the races found positions in the existing world, trading, fighting, defending, allying, fracturing, uniting- doing all the things that people do. Cultures have risen and fallen, magic has been lost and discovered.   Now as tensions grow between nations, there are hints that the walls of reality are beginning to crack. Will they fall and doom the world to chaotic destruction, or be shored up and hold for another age?
